they're never going to make an aa7 but when they do make an aa7 it should be about manfred von karma's unnamed 7yo granddaughter who has a dog named "phoenix" and who would be perfectly nineteen years old and protagonist-aged by aa6's point in the timeline. let's say her parent, franziska's presumed elder sibling, cut off contact with the von karmas after the whole "papa, you shot your rival?" thing. the last straw after the "papa, you took in your mysteriously dead rival's son? and he's seven years older than franziska?" thing. and the lifelong "perfection" thing. unnamed granddaughter von karma can be passionate about the law as a way of feeling close to an extended family she lost access to in childhood. we could meet manfred's unnamed wife who we only know exists because he talks up her cooking once in AAI2.

ace attorney still has so much it could say about family and inherited burdens. manfred is dead, why not let his spectre haunt unnamed granddaughter von karma. walk with me. join me on this path.

like imagine you're a larry fan and you're like gee i sure hope they come out one day and then someone gets shot and killed backstage at a 1d concert and it turns out louis did it cause he was smuggling drugs. and then harry falls in love with the lawyer who sent louis to jail (and who previously sent harry's brother to jail also) and also this new lawyer boyfriend fucking hates one direction. so you can't even celebrate that he's dating a man because this man Hates One Direction And Sent Louis To Jail. so u all hate him. THIS is the life gavinners fans are currently leading, right now, in the beautiful wonderful ace attorney universe. <3

I think Winston Payne is an infinitely funnier character if he is genuinely an above board regular ass prosecutor. Not bigoted, not excessively cruel, not corrupt at all. There’s Nothing Wrong With Him He’s Just Annoying. He does his job well enough and there’s just no reason to fire him. Nobody likes him but like. After all the horrors the prosecutors office has dealt with they cannot afford to let go of someone with as spotless of a record as him. Winston is no more underhanded than any of the Moral Upstanding prosecutors— in fact as the tutorial prosecutor he’s relatively easy to combat. And one could argue that he’s decently effective in cases that aren’t against protagonists, earning the title of “rookie killer”.

Gaspen Payne, however, did actively transfer to the “executes defense attorneys” country and then push specifically for a death penalty. So he did straight up try to kill Phoenix. Over losing like. As far as we’re aware, 1 time in court. Every other loss was his brother’s.

So Gaspen’s demonstrably insane and bad. but Winston is fine.
