Helloo love~ Can you write one with Ace/Law/Kid/Kuzan where he falls asleep on his girlfriend and has a nightmare where he loses her and when he wakes up she's gone (but just getting a blanket/tea/book) and he panics and looks for her and is extremly happy when he sees his gf again (Bonus: some cute fluff) Love your writing :))
I know itâs been *checks notes* actual years since I have touched this blog, but I kinda wanted to try my hand at a few of the asks I have in my inbox. I saw this ask and really wanted to explore Ace and an AU Iâve had brewinâ in my brain for a minute, so this is the result! I hope you guys like it. Iâd also like to say that once I do a few more asks, Iâll be opening my asks for a few slots, so keep an eye out for that! The ask box is open for those who wanna shoot me an encouraging message or have anything youâd like to say about the stories Iâve done this far, but I am not taking requests at this time. Iâll let yâall know when I am though!
Warnings: smut, NSFW, graphic descriptions of injuries, description of a panic attack, Ace is a potty mouth, gratuitous amounts of fluff to make up for the angst

Ace was warm; pleasant and comforting, he felt like he was being hugged by freshly cleaned, sun-warmed linens. He rolled over onto his side, arms stretching until a satisfying pop resonated up his spine, before he draped them over a waist. He opened his eyes to see you laying with your back against his chest, and he felt himself grin. He nuzzled into your neck, nose running along the bend of your neck as he tightened his grip just enough to make you sigh sleepily, a smile creeping across your face.
You roll in his arms, bare skin running against his in ways that had a needy heat pooling in his belly. He all but purred when you ran your hands over his body, kissing up his neck before lightly running your tongue against the shell of his ear.
âIâll be right back handsomeâ
It was a murmur, sounding far away but right there, too, if that made any sense. Ace furrowed his brows, reality feeling askew for only a second before you were kissing him and the words were forgotten completely.
Your hands cupped his cheeks, and you rolled yourself on top of him, your naked body bathing in the morning sunlight that filtered into the room they were in.
Ace felt like the luckiest man in the world as he gazed up at you with a reverence, his hands gripping onto your hips and rolling his hardened length against your dripping core. You sucked your bottom lip into your teeth, your lids hooded and your whole body trembling.
â(Y/N)â Ace gasped. He reached up, taking your face in his hands and pulling you down, devouring your lips with his as he adjusted his himself. You smiled into the kiss, taking one of his hands in your own, the other snaking down to where his cock throbbed against their bodies. His breath hitched as he felt you grip his shaft, stroking it once, twice, spreading his pre-cum along the thick length before twirling it around your entrance. You gave him a twinkling, teasing look, and he could feel his smirk growing dangerous-
He blinked, and then suddenly you were gone.
He whipped his head around so fast, it should have given him whiplash. The sheets didnât feel warm anymore, the sunlight outside suddenly felt too bright.
Ace looked toward the door, and only then realized he wasnât on the old manâs ship, he was in Dandanâs hut. He didnât remember coming here, he hadnât seen this place since he was seventeen. He looked around once more, slowly getting up from the cold bed and realized he had his shorts on again.
That thought came and went when he heard the sounds of battle happening outside the door.
He walked toward the it, his hesitancy from before now gone, but the more steps he took toward the door, the further away it seemed to get. His gait went from careful and calculated to a dead sprint when the sounds of battle seemed to mesh with the sounds of screaming â your screaming.
He ran for all he was worth, the door slowly inching its way toward him. His fingers almost grazed the worn brass of the doorknob when he made a desperate jump for it, and he missed, and then he was falling.
FallingâŠ
FallingâŠ
FallingâŠ
The black abyss swallowed him until he broke through into sunlight, and he landed with what should have been a painful thud, but he was numb to it. Why couldnât he feel anything?
The dust settled around him, and he saw he was still on Mt. Colubo, but what was happening around him made no sense.
It was the Summit War.
He saw the various prisoners of Impel Down, the revolutionaries, the White Beard Pirates, his brothers and sisters, clashing with marines, admirals, captains, the ShichibukiâŠ
There was so much blood. So much death and violence, all because he couldnât do his duty as a commander, he wasnât strong enough, he wasnât worth this.
Luffy called out to him and he whipped around to see Luffy running towards him with that ridiculous grin in place and oblivious to Akainu gaining on him, a tacky, malicious grin painted on the admiralâs cheeks.
Ace didnât think he had moved, but one second he was watching as Akainu gained speed on his little brother, the next second Ace was standing over Luffy, preparing himself to take the blow that would have killed him, should have killed him. Akainu sneered at him, the lava that bubbled off of the admiralâs arms broiling Aceâs skin, it was so intense, so sudden, and Ace could only stand there, could only watch as Akainu thrust forwardâŠ
âACE!â
That scream, the shrill, panicked gasp, made Aceâs heart stop, and suddenly he watched as your body slumped forward, Akainuâs fist buried into your chest cavity.
No.
You looked over your shoulder, blood dribbling down your chin and you smiled, soft and sweet as always and Ace tried to yell. He tried to cry out your name in horror, scream at the monster that was ripping your heart from your body, but nothing came out, nothing but silence and the ringing in his ears.
No. No. No!
You reached your hand out to him, the appendage broken looking and trembling. Something tried to be said, a soft murmur on the tip of your tongue but nothing came out but blood. It soaked your shirt and spilled out onto the grass and pooled around Aceâs knees.
(Y/N)! No! Not (Y/N)! No, no no no nononono â
(Y/N)!
~~
Ace gasped awake, body sitting bolt upright and gulping in air in heaving sobs. He felt like fire was in his veins, and not like how his devil fruit made him feel. This was a suffocating heat that left him feeling as if all the air in his lungs had been sucked out by a vacuum, and the world around him was closing in. He looked around and felt confused at the unfamiliar inn room he was in until he realized it was the same one he and you had booked for the night.
The Summit War was over. Pops had died, yet he had lived. You had lived, Luffy had lived.
All was well. As well as things could be these days.
His hand reached over to your side of the bed, needing to feel the warmth of you to ground him again, only to find it empty and cold. He turned his head, looking around and not seeing you anywhere. He felt the anxiety begin to rise again, his chest heaving with the absolute panic that was coursing through him at the fact that you werenât there. Thoughts of his dream sprung back to the surface and questions started ringing through his head.
Where were you? Why are you gone? What happened? Did something happen â Oh God did something happen to you?
Ace flew forward with every intention of going to find you, but the blankets were tangled around his legs and he fell to the floor in a cursing heap. With shaking hands he wrenched the blankets away, stumbling forward like a newborn fawn, only to stop in his tracks when his door opened.
There you stood, wrapped in a robe and clutching what looked like two steaming mugs that smelled suspiciously like hot chocolate.
You blinked at him, eyebrows furrowing in confusion when you realized that, even only illuminated by the moon shining in through the curtains, his eyes were swollen, he looked panicked, almost terrified as he took you in.
âAce, whatââ
You werenât given a chance to finish, because you suddenly had six feet of muscle squeezing the life out of you. Your eyes widened in surprise and alarm as you kept the hot chocolate from spilling. Luckily there was a dresser next to you, and you carefully turned with him still clinging to you, and placed them down before bringing your arms around his neck.
âHey,â you said softly, bringing your hands up and running your fingers through his damp locks, and your stomach dropped. Your grip on him tightened as you felt him tremble against you, and you rocked the two of you slowly, words of comfort and love quietly whispered into his ear.
Heâd had a nightmare, you thought. And you hadnât been there when he woke up.
âIâm sorry,â Ace started, trying to pull away, as he always did when this happened, âI just thought-â
You put a gentle hand on his lips, a meaningful look passing between the two of you and Ace felt his resolve breaking, like it always did with you. He felt his bottom lip quivering and fresh tears pricking at the edges of his eyes at the thought.
Because he didnât have to be strong around you, didnât have to pretend he was okay and that his whole world hadnât been rocked with the death of the closest thing heâd ever had to a dad. You knew him better than anyone, accepted him regardless of his lineage and his past.
You loved him and maybe thatâs why you were the only one he could let himself break down like this in front of, he could let himself feel things and heal. He loved you and the thought of losing you that day haunts him still.
He canât imagine what would have happened if you hadnât been there to bodily drag Akainu away from him that day. Thank fuck heâd never have to find out.
You took both his hands in your own and led him over to the bay window that overlooked the village they were at. You sat him down on the cushions before walking back over to where Ace had wrestled with the blankets and grabbed one, shaking it out until it was free from the other blankets. You grabbed the mugs from the dresser and walked back over to Ace and settled yourself between his legs, draping the blanket over the two of you and handed him one of the warm mugs. Ace couldnât help the small smile that graced his lips as he watched the marshmallows wiggle in the sweet drink.
âI was gonna use it as a bribeâ you mock whispered, and Ace looked up, confused.
âThe hot chocolateâ you said with a sly smile âI was going to try to coerce you into waking up and doing a puzzle with me,â you snuggled deeper into his chest, your mug resting between your hands âbut I like snuggling just as much as puzzlesâ
Ace chuckled, breathless and incredulous, before leaning down and setting his mug on the floor and then wrapped his arms around you. You took a sip at your drink, wincing when you realized it was still too hot, and put it down next to Aceâs. You put your head on his chest and listened to his heart beat in his chest, his warmth enveloping you better than any blanket could.
âDo you want to talk about it?â You asked softly, gazing up at your lover tentatively. Ace clenched his jaw before his grip tightened around you.
âItâŠI just-â he seemed to chew on his words, as if grinding down on his molars was going to make them easier to say. He felt himself get worked up again at the thought of the dream, his palms sweating and his breaths deepening. Catching onto this, you lift yourself up and bring your hands to his face.
âHey, look at me,â his eyes flick to yours, and you see the muscles in his jaw quiver with how hard heâs clenching it. âYou donât have to talk about it, not if it makes you feel like thisâ you let his arms around your waist go under your robe and sleep things, the feeling of your skin on his grounding him.
âYou remember when we first met?â You smiled, your fingers tracing the edge of his face and gently brushing a stray wave from his face. Ace smiled softly at the memory.
âYeah, you kicked my ass pretty good at that barâ
âYou followed me for how many islands after that?â You laughed, running your hands through his hair. He couldnât help the tinge of red that crept up his neck.
âI was a proud kid, couldnât let some girl beat me, and you refused a re-match. What else was I supposed to do?â
You snickered, before looking back at him with a tenderness that melted his heart.
âIâm really glad you chased after meâ you admitted, not for the first time, âand Iâm really glad I beat your ass twice. I donât think Iâd have joined you if you hadnâtâ
Ace rolled his eyes, the smile on his face never leaving. He looked into your eyes and felt like he was safe, like nothing could touch the two of you so long as you were in his arms.
âWere you having trouble sleeping too?â He asked, a little belatedly as he realized you were going to go do a puzzle, âyou only like doing puzzles to get your mind off stuff. Are you okay?â
You blinked, before your smile fell into a look of contemplation as you turned your head and gazed out at the horizon that was slowly turning a lighter shade of purple, indicating just how early it was.
âYeahâ you sighed âIâm okayâ you looked at him, your contemplation turning into something softer âso long as Iâve got you, my bad dreams are only ever thatâ dreams. I always wake up eventually.â You trace your hand down his face and across his shoulder where burns littered the left side of his body, a reminder that you had almost been too late, had almost let the person most important to you slip through your fingers. Ace took ahold of your hand, running his fingers over your own scarred flesh where you had grabbed the admiral, pulling him away from himself and Luffy.
They all had their scars from that day, no one had walked away unscathed. Physical scars would be constant reminders of what they had lost, but also of what they had saved.
Ace put both of your hands in his and kissed them, so gently it was like he was handling paper thin glass. He put them to his chest, warm and alive and he looked up at you like you hung the moon and stars in the sky, because to him you did.
âI love you, (Y/N)â his voice cracked, emotions in him raw and burning. You smiled, putting your forehead to his.
âI love you too, Aceâ you gave him a soft kiss to his lips, âwith everything I have.â
