Blitz the Ambassador unleashed a strikingly beautiful video titled ‘Shine,’ onto the internet over the weekend. Shine is the second part of Blitz’s Diasporadical Trilogia (The first installment- Juju Girl- was shot in Accra, Ghana, and released about two months ago.)
Watch the video and marvel at how young Ama’s ancestral spirit protects and guides her through NYC spaces, to her and her father’s safety.
Final installment of the trilogia will be shot in Bahia, Brazil: as to when that will be, we can’t tell for sure; what we do know for sure is that we’re digging this SHINE video.

Alicia Garza is the Special Projects Director for the National Domestic Workers Alliance. She has been the recipient of multiple awards for her organizing work in Black and Latino communities, receiving the Local Hero award from the San Francisco Bay Guardian and the Jeanne Gauna Communicate Justice award from the Center for Media Justice in 2008.
