that last bit sounded like morbid curiosity but i didn’t mean it like that i just. i want to know what she went through, what it was like here, as opposed to down south. i feel like preserving that history is important? and understanding the trauma this was for queer/lgbttq etc people

and like. i want to understand where i came from or rather. how our elders lived and fought and how we got from there to now

like. the tail end, i don’t know how old she is and i think she’d prefer to keep it that way. probably old enough to be my bio mom but def younger than her. but.

she was out and heavily involved with queer/lgbttq etc community or rather. you wind up with a lot of friends like you. but. gosh. i can’t even begin to imagine what that was like holy shit. your friends getting sick and wasting away and no one is doing anything about it who’s in power?? 

i wonder what the aids crisis was like in canada if she is ok with it i will ask her and maybe write about it here? 

we owe the people who fought and resisted so much

it’s mostly over now but. a thing. about world aids day. the documentary on netflix (in canada? idk if us or eu has it) how to survive a plague is about act up and the aids crisis

and it is. so much. can’t put in words. it hurts, and it hurts that there are so few elders who survived to share that history? i feel like post-crisis generations are really. cut off from our history or something? i don’t know what i’m trying to say it’s feelings i’m having trouble verbalizing

and also i know personally i don’t think enough about people who are poz and stuff, people alive right now... and how so many people in the developing world still are dealing with hiv/aids and aren’t being helped

also. this one thing is kind of a running morbid in-joke and it just hit me why.

wine mum, she lived through it. the tail end. and a theme to all her stories is ‘so-and-so is dead now’ and it. shocked me at first but she sort of. you know, joked about it a little, and it became like ‘oh thank goodness a story where the person isn’t dead!’ 

she told me she lived through it and rent makes her cry a lot because it reminds her of watching her friends getting sick and. dying

and i just realized that is why so many of her old friends have passed away and that. holy shit.

i think someone told me it’s illegal to evict someone in winter i don’t know i don;t know if it counts as winter yet or if that’ss even true or how much advance warning a landlord is supposed to give

i’m so tired i can’t think good i just want to sleep but no because this garbage

part of me is scared it’s because i’m mentally ill or trans... or the landlord somehow doesn’t like me??? i only met her like once

ha ha i’m exhausted. been sleeping all day instead of cleaning like i need to. i got a notice for roach extermination (months after i complained) for Tomorrow, at like just about 12 pm. it starts at 9 am. where the fuck am i going to go. ugh.

that is NNOT enough time to prepare and now i know if i ask for accomodations for my brain stuff they will evict me because they tried to last time. i hate them holy shit

i don’t know if there;s some loophole that makes this illegal. ugh. i’m so sick of this i haven’t been this consistently stressed since i was couchsurfing/homeless

hello, i am going to be homeless.

I just found out my house got foreclosed because the person who was supposed to be making the house payments apparently stopped doing it for a year and left my grandmother (with dementia) to do it herself so she could keep getting the ambercare check without actually taking care of her mom.

I’m a queer & disabled trauma survivor, living in poverty. I’m unable to work because of my illness, and have been the only person caring for my grandmother for the past two years. the only income I had was what my grandma was able to pay me for helping her from her ssi. without that, I am completely without funds.

I don’t know how well I could survive being homeless… I have a place lined up while i finish applying for disability and try to get on my feet, but it won’t be possible without any money to pay rent and buy food.

please, please reblog if you can’t donate. every dollar and signal boost means the world to be. I’ve never had to do this before and I wouldn’t have if the situation hadn’t suddenly become so grim. I have, worst case scenario, 30 days. best case scenario, 90 days if it can be temporarily appealed… but no one in the family has the tens of thousands of dollars to try to get the house back.

(anyone wondering what happened to my grandma: one of her children will be able to pay for a nursing home for her. but I still have flat out nowhere to go.)
