Losing my mind because the cover is making me hope that the writers are going to delve into Suki’s experience at the Boiling Rock, and I hardly see people talk about the fact that she was a young girl in a fucking high security prison with no allies, and no way of knowing if anyone was coming for her–not even knowing if her last mission had succeeded. 

And maybe that’s when Kyoshi shows up. 

I mean, Suki was in top form for the prison escape–how many hours do you think she spent in her cell, drilling her forms, imagining that she was somewhere else? Sweating the fear and doubt away? Throwing punches instead of gasping for breath? 

Just, the discipline and strength it must’ve taken to keep training, to keep hoping, every day. Perhaps Kyoshi is with her then. There’s a slip of a shadow that’s not hers when she lunges across her cell, but it follows her just the same. There’s a cool, metallic edge underneath her chin, tilting it gently upwards. And there’s a nudge at her heel, a brush of fingers along the bottom of her forearm as she practices–not correcting her form, but supporting it. Suki doesn’t have her make-up, her regalia, or her fans, but the spirit of Kyoshi is with her.
