FINAL UPDATE
Last update for the Lovely Loughboy Project! Today I have got the last three images out of the six. Hope you enjoy these images! The theme and the font has been a success. Project complete
UPDATE!
Here we have another nice car from the Loughboy area! To be exact it was located at the Topaz garage! I’ve taken a liking to this car theme, it’s tricky to spot them but when you do, you do. If anybody is interested in cars Loughboy is the place to go. My evidence is half way there everyone. Three to go, Seamus! That blue is amazing!
Which Lens??
Here are the two options of two different lenses I can use for the Lovely Loughboy project. I have chosen to use the 24-105mm lens. I find the quality of the image to be much better. The brightness and colour is great. I like the 50mm but I think I will capture better looking images with the 24-105mm. Enjoy the pics of both lenses!
My All Time Favourite Tourism Poster
This tourism poster for fishing in Rosslare, Waterford and Cork is my fav poster! I was asked by Seamus to pick out our favourite one we could find on Google Images. My first impression was that it’s in black and white which I am a sucker for. There’s just something about black and white contrast! The illustration was next. I love how it’s a small little road and narrow stone bridge beside a little small house. This is definitely Irish! This looks like a very homely place which most people would describe Ireland as. I also enjoy fishing and this poster makes me want to fish. Some might say the black and white makes it gloomy. I disagree, the contrast from light to dark doesn’t show me gloom at all. LOVE LOVE this one!!!
Fonts!!
The font I have decided on is called ‘Ravie’. The reason for choosing this font is because it is bold and big but has a little fanciness to it. I think this is suitable for my theme which is the lovely cars of Loughboy. The cars I will be searching for will be all three of those traits ‘bold, big and a little fancy’. I looked at other fonts such as comic sans and castillar but they weren’t looking right on the pictures I have already shared. Comic sans was too thin, it’s more suited to text on for example a blog post! Castillar almost looks formal which would suit the fancy trait I’m going for. But you must know I’m not focusing on new, high end cars. I much prefer the older boy racer types of cars. Ravie is the one guys.
So something has changed lads...
The theme of the project has been changed! How drastic, right? So I’ll tell ya all about how it started. I was with some peeps walking around Loughboy and I found a few nice cars. I said Jaysus that’d be nice to get a photo of.. Then I saw another. From then on I knew that things were changing. THE THEME has been twisted into something entirely different. Fascinating. The search for new cars is the new operation, Seamus. I will be sure to update you on any more sightings. See ya soon!
Lovely Loughboy. The first additions!
Today Seamous gave us another update to the project today. He asked us to go out and get the two first pictures of Lovely Loughboy. This is what I sent back to him! I came across this first picture of the strange garden bed. After that I’m thinking gardening will be the theme for this project. The next image is of a man working outside in the sun. He let me take of a picture of him. Absolutely class.
I like the first picture it’s a heart shaped garden bed with a twist! It helped me to decide the theme of this mission. It was taken in a housing estate not far from the Young Irish Film Makers building. The next photo of the man fit perfectly with the theme. Again this was only across the road from the first picture! Loughboy love’s their gardening lads. Stay tuned for more updates lads. Four more left!
Digital camera vs mobile camera lad
Good stuff about digital camera:
- The quality of the image may be better than mobile - There’s generally better picture settings - Photos turn out better in all types of lighting - You can zoom in without tapering the quality of the image
The bad stuff:
- They’re expensive - More difficult to carry around
Good stuff about mobile camera:
- You can connect to the internet to upload photos - Most people have a mobile phone so you don’t have to buy a new one - There’s many free apps dedicated to photo editing The bad stuff:
- Image quality can be lower than digital camera - Zooming in can make images appear blurry - If there’s bad lighting then the photo will be bad - Battery life is generally worse
Lovely Loughboy?
Yesterday Paul gave me a brief. The brief is to capture 6 good images of Loughboy. My initial reaction was how in gods name can I get nice pictures of Loughboy because it isn’t the most attractive or friendly area. After some thought I said I’m not going to capture the Loughboy area, I’m going to capture the nature of Loughboy. After some exploring I hope to succeed. This will be difficult but sure look you gotta do what you gotta do.
Peace.
Did it start here?
Grandmaster Flash
Warning.. HEAVY LISTENING
If you like English horror rap there’s no better guys to do it than these guys.. RHYME ASYLUM! If you don’t like grim lyrics do not listen!
Beat of the day!
Don’t miss the chance to listen!
Cunninlynguists- A Piece of Strange
This album is amazing. Just listen to the beats in this. The man who produced this music goes by the name of Kno. Definitely one of my favorite producers and this album proves my preference. This hip hop album is beyond different to any other hip hop I’ve listened to. Once you listen you’ll know what I’m talking about. The beats...
If you’re a fan of English Hip Hop..
This is just a link to a playlist containing Concept Of Thought’s material. They are an English hip hop group who are of course from the underground scene. Unfortunately YouTube has not uploaded any of their albums so I had to link a playlist of all of their songs. Whatever. They make great material and you should definitely give a listen. That first song their ‘Our Thought’ is one of my personal favorites. It speaks truth and wisdom and the beat sets the vibe off. Enjoy people!
You might recognize this beat. It’s been sampled in a couple songs.. listen.
There’s been many hip hop songs that have used samples from this oldie. Let me know in the comments if you’ve heard this somewhere else..
Quote of the day!

This is my world it just so happens that you live in it too'

Abstract hip hop anybody?
This by the title of the album is a ‘Journey Into Abstract Hip Hop’. This is a French hip hop group who delve into experimental hip hop. In this album especially they use cinematic atmospheres from black and white films and street film. This has been produced to make a new vibe for hip hop. Some of the beats in this are dope. Enjoy!
