As a young opera singer, I found myself getting frustrated that there was no place where I could perform arias that I was working on other than in studio or during an actual audition. So...partnered with the Nuyorican Poets Cafe in the Lower East Side of Manhattan, I have created Operation: Opera. It will happen the LAST TUESDAY OF EVERY MONTH here at the Nuyorican. You will hear young singers from all over performing arias they love to an audience of opera newcomers, opera enthusiasts and friends. The show will feature acclaimed poets reading the original stories, myths and legends that inspired the operas, as well as the COMEDY OPERA TROUPE which will be performing your favorite pop, hip hop and rap songs in operatic style. During her years in attendance there she performed the roles of Bradamante inAlcina, the Mother in The Consul, Sarraghina in Nine and Mrs. Segstrom in A Little Night Music. Olivia has attended such prestigious music programs as the Opera Theater and Music Festival of Lucca and the Aspen Music Festival where she performed the role of Flora in La traviata under Julius Rudel. During the 2007-2008 season she was a core chorus member of Cincinnati Opera performing inFaust, Cosi fan Tutte, Nixon in China and Aida. In New York she participated in Martina Arroyo’s Role Study program, learning the role of Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni as well as performing Dorothee in New York Lyric Opera Theater's production of Cendrillon.}
