Writing Theory: Finding Your Character's Voice
One thing that is talked about when writing multiple PoVs, is the voice of your character. Your reader should be able to look at the page and know exactly how is narrating the story by the way your character is telling it. When writing in the voices of multiple people, you must ensure that there is something unique about each one. Every person has a different way of seeing the world, a different thought process, their own prejudices and baises and not to mention their own opinions.
Preception
How does your character see the world? Are they overall positive about it or are they negative? How your character sees the world is a good indication of what kind of person they are. What details do they notice more? An emphatic person will note a person's expressions more, an optimist may not notice the bleakness of a situation. A detail-conscious character will spend time studying things a flippant character will not.
Reaction
What are your character's reactions to words and actions around them? All characters and people act differently to different events, both outwardly and inwardly. A naturally suspicious character will not fully believe another character's testimonial outright. A more sympathetic character will seek to comfort a sad/hurt/self-doubting character. Everyone reactions differently.
Inner Monologue
Your character's thoughts are a great way of showing the reader your character's real opinion on things. There is no bullshit in the mind, your character speaks only what they really think. What are your character's go to internal reactions? Are they sarcastic or critical in their thoughts? How does your character's inner dialogue differ from their outward actions?
Quirks
Every character has some quirk or tell about themselves when telling the story. Characters might take a closer look at things when anxious or they might have a more describe things in a humourful sense. Every character has some way of telling the story and its the little quirks and tells that set them apart.
