Toyota Camry 2012

THE GOOD:

The look is good and fuel economy is the best, 25 mpg city /35 mpg highway;Combined 28 mpg is real good Camry 2012. Interior is a lot improved and Price is the most competitive in this size of the sedan. Safer than the previous Camry 2011. Over all better.

THE BAD:

Design is not revolutionary and the trunk size is a bit smaller than the other options available out in the market. Manual transmission is not available in any model that hurts the manual transmission lovers.

The Amateur Review of Toyota Camry 2012

Toyota Camry 2012 is a family sedan car and undoubtedly one of the best in its kind. This has been the best selling cars in America for the last nine years and Toyota claims that 90% of their Camry’s are still on the road. We all know how passionate the Americans are about their cars; so we all could definitely assume that this car is worth a try. 

Now, Toyota has recently introduced a bunch of new models of this best selling car in the market of United States this October. Toyota claims these new models of Camry 2012 are the best and totally enhanced in design, comfort, safety and drive. So any one interested in this model of Toyota then this should be helpful.

Toyota is the most popular automobile brand in the world and no doubt they totally deserved the popularity. They have worked hard for this position in the popularity section. So like the majority of world’s population I love Toyota. When ever there is a new model, I’m there in the market for a free test drive. And now I will share my passion for people who could be benefited from this useful information.

From the first look at a Camry 2012 (SE); I just loved it. The design is not revolutionary but yet simple and elegant. The first impression is something that no one could ever forget. This looks a lot like the previous one but a bit changed or should I say improved? I don’t know here you have to decide yourself. 

Camry 2012 offers 2.5-liter four cylinder engine delivering 178 horsepower, nine hp extra than the previous Camry 2011. Of peak torque 170 lb.-ft is just amazing with high fuel efficiency.

Fuel Economy

25 mpg city and 35 mpg highway with Dual VVT-I (Dual Variable Valve Timing intelligent) is definitely an improvement in the Camry 2012. Combined 28 mpg is also the plus point of the models.

21 mpg city and 30 mpg highway with optional V6 DOHC 3.5-liter engine but the best in hybrid 43 mpg in city and 39 mpg in highway combined 41 mpg is more than 30 percent boost in the fuel economy.

Models of Toyota Camry 2012

Camry 2012 comes in L, LE, SE, XLE, and LE and XLE Hybrid. The SE and XLE has optional V6 DOHC 3.5-liter engine delivering 268 horsepower with 6,200 rpm. The SE offers a sporty tune suspension with 17-inch alloy wheels and the other base models comes with a regular 16-inch steel wheel.

Toyota Camry L offers features like power folding mirrors, air conditioning, full power accessories, fine touched steering wheel, Bluetooth and six speaker CD sound systems with USB jack.

Camry LE featured with all the features from Camry L and some more features like auto headlamps, remote keyless entrance and steering wheel mounted audio and Bluetooth controls and last of all the six-speaker Display Audio system featuring a 6.1-inch touch screen.

Camry SE is the sport tuned model of Toyota Camry 2012 with 17-inch alloy wheels along with optional V-6 engine. The extra treated interior of SE furbished with leather wrapped steering wheel and sports seat, matching taste of interior with the whole package makes it even more gorgeous. An additional navigation system gets the job done and makes it almost perfect.

The Camry XLE is the luxurious model designated for the top executives featured with all the extensions keeping comfort in the mind. XLE featuring eight way power driver seat control and four way power passenger seat control for the ultimate riding experience. Softer suspensions and features like fog lamps, sunroof dual zone automatic climate control and navigational system with a fabulous interior just adds the joy in driving. 

Toyota Camry 2012 Hybrid is offered in LE and XLE models and with 0-60 acceleration in 7.6 seconds; it’s a definite yes from me. 

Toyota Camry 2012: Safety

Safety is always important in a family sedan and Toyota Camry has given a huge effort in this best selling model. Camry has ten additional air bags with all the models and the front passenger’s knee air bag and rear-seat side air bags are new in Camry. Toyota Camry 2012 featured with Toyota’s Star Safety Standard like all Toyota vehicles. 

An optional Safety Connect feature can access a call center with a live operator who can dispatch police and emergency vehicles. With some other fantastic features like stolen vehicle locator is definite worth the value.

Toyota Camry 2012: Interior

Camry’s new interior is definitely a plus point in its bio and revised interior from the previous models is more pleasant. Replaced texture based interior is an eye catching improvement and the stylish decorative stitching is far more better than the previous plastic based interior. The interior materials are a lot better and elegant in look and comfort. 

These versions looks a bit improved in interior space; means a little more room for you inside. Bigger trunk space gives you a little more freedom in packing for a long ride. 

Entune Multimedia System

Toyota Camry 2012 is the first to offer Entune multimedia system in Toyota’s. This means a richer experience with your smart phone that you love. Toyota introduces this for better driving experience. With a lot of features let’s see if Entune can satisfy us or not only time can say.

Six-Speed Automatic transmission

I do not like this feature in my favorite Camry; I’m a manual transmission lover. I love to feel the shifts with my own hands. They have left no option of manual transmission. 

Toyota Camry 2012: Price

This is where Toyota beats all the competitors; all those features and still very competitive price makes Camry even more acceptable in the mid size family sedan car market. 

With many more options to choose from this is definitely a good car that Toyota has produced. And of course like all Toyota’s this Toyota Camry 2012 also comes with the peace of mind warranty protection. That’s Toyota’s 36 months/ 36000 mile basic new vehicle warranty. 

THE BOTTOM LINE:

And last of all there is Toyota standard “Toyota Care” for all new Toyota vehicle.

Volvo enters the race for self-driving cars.

Volvo is introducing new features to their cars to assist drivers, with the first features rolling out in the next few years as part of a larger plan to increase driver safety. “Our vision is that no one is killed or injured in a new Volvo by 2020,” says a spokesman.

It plans to launch autonomous vehicles in 2014, capable of driving up to 50km/h, which are expected to be most useful in heavy traffic. The technology is similar to Google’s efforts, using lasers, cameras, and sensors.

The key ingredient, according to Volvo, was wireless Internet in all vehicles. By giving each vehicle on the road a common connecting point, cars could create a road train of vehicles talking to one another and mimicking each other’s movements as if they were a team of horses.

“The car of the future will be just like the farmer’s horse,” Mr. Eugensson said. “The farmer can steer the horse and carriage but if he falls asleep the horse can still take him back home.

“And if the farmer tries to steer the carriage against a tree or off a cliff, the horse will refuse.”

I don't like the idea of a self-driving car. I love to drive it myself, why bother buying a car that would not give you the joy of driving it. I would rather hire a taxi or hop on a public bus instead of buying a car that's self driving. But that's only me. This might be helpful for others, for me it's a complete waste of money.
