Hey My Friend Pearl Needs Some Help!

Hi, my name is Pearl. I am looking to see if anyone has a place where I can live. It’s possible I could become homeless come September, and there is a housing crisis in the city I’m in right now so I’m not sure if I could even get into a shelter. I am disabled, and I have applied for Washington State benefits to help pay rent, but the process is taking longer than what I need to pay rent in time this month. My roommate is also disabled and on a fixed income (SSDI) that is several hundred dollars below rent, so it’s looking like we can’t stay in our apartment much longer. The only option I have for “family” is my abusive parents, one of which physically attacked me a year ago which was the reason I had to move out.

To be clear, I am looking for a place to just house me. Honestly I am pretty desperate, and I’m willing to travel and pay for the fares (I have a limited amount of cash, if I become homeless for an extended period I would need to spend some of that on food and possibly not have the full amount to travel). I am not on SSDI, but I am going to apply for it (I was planning to apply this month but I have a lot of things to square away, and I might not have an address soon for Social Security to send mail to).

If someone allows me to stay with them, since I am moving states I would not have income immediately. It will take 1-2 months for me to secure one, either through the state or through a job that is physically possible for me to do (accommodates my disability). After I acquire an income, I am willing to pay rent. I will also apply for insurance and food stamps from the state. I am going to research the state programs and jobs in the area before I move as well, so I can get started immediately. I am also ready to draft and sign a Roommate Agreement contract with the household members to make sure we are all on board with regards to the living situation.

Some info about me: I am a mixed race, disabled, autistic, nonbinary lesbian. I am 21 years old. I really like animals (black cats and dogs are my fave), and animated films/tv shows (my faves are probably The Lion King and Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure). I also like to draw and make art (I can show you some if you want!). My favorite color is pink, red, gray, or black. I don’t have any active social media right now (I don’t have wifi at home, and also it’s a bit stressful to keep track of), but I do have a Discord.
