I've been writing about games for about three years over at Raider King. Reviews, news, features, guides, the whole thing. I have a particular weakness for choice-based RPGs and narrative games, and very loud opinions about pretty much everything else.

So this started because I saw two Reddit posts, one from a solo dev whose cozy burger game (Burgie's Cozy Kitchen) got cloned and blew up on Douyin with 600k+ pirate players, and another from a completely unrelated dev describing the exact same thing happening to their unreleased game. That felt like a pattern, so I went and actually researched it: the Chinese gaming market, Douyin's mini-game ecosystem, and the actual legal track record for foreign devs trying to fight this.

Oh yeah, might do a review on it at some point. Heard the author’s pretty slow with updates, so I might put it on the back burner for now.
Seriously though, should I start writing reviews for the Choice of Games / Hosted Games releases? I almost always play the new ones anyway, so it could be a fun thing to do. 🤔
Just finished Esoteric Ebb with the credits still rolling and something happening to me emotionally that I refuse to examine.
Quick summary of my playthrough: woke up having survived a river. Ate 37 apples. Jumped back into the river to confirm the first time wasn't a fluke. Attempted to romance a sphinx, an orc, an angel, and a bugbear. Secured an off-screen date with three out of four. Informed 21 separate people they should vote for me in the upcoming election. Saved the city.
Then voted for myself.
You also have a necromancy spell that lets you interrogate the dead. Five questions. You can ask them anything. Obviously, I asked a corpse who they were planning to vote for.
We honor the dead by honoring their civic duties.
