My Sentai marathon is COMPLETE
After 7 months, I finally finished my Sentai mega-marathon: from Gorenger to Go-Busters! Now I’ve watched ALL the 41 Sentai shows (and I’m continuing Lupin/Patranger). Next will be Akibaranger. Here is my personal ranking, from the one I disliked the most to the one I loved the most. KEEP IN MIND I don’t intend to offend anyone if I consider a specific Sentai to be “bad” while it’s loved by someone else; don’t take it personally (it happened to me last month).
BAD #41 - Denziman (1980) #40 - J.A.K.Q. (1977) #39 - Jetman (1991) #38 - Ohranger (1995) #37 - Goggle V (1982) #36 - Gaoranger (2001) #35 - Zyuohger (2016) #34 - Liveman (1988)
MEDIOCRE #33 - Go-Onger (2008) #32 - Ninninger (2015) #31 - Sun Vulcan (1981) #30 - Megaranger (1997) #29 - Zyuranger (1992) #28 - Gingaman (1998) #27 - Carranger (1996) #26 - Shinkenger (2009) #25 - Changeman (1985)
AVERAGE #24 - Boukenger (2006) #23 - Magiranger (2005) #22 - Goseiger (2010) #21 - Gorenger (1975) #20 - Battle Fever J (1979) #19 - Dekaranger (2004) #18 - Bioman (1984) #17 - Fiveman (1990) #16 - GoGoFive (1999) #15 - Turboranger (1989) #14 - Hurricaneger (2002) #13 - Kakuranger (1994)
GOOD #12 - Flashman (1986) #11 - Maskman (1987) #10 - Dynaman (1983) #9 - Gokaiger (2011) #8 - Abaranger (2003) #7 - ToQger (2014) #6 - Kyoryuger (2013) #5 - Dairanger (1993) #4 - Timeranger (2000) #3 - Go-Busters (2012) #2 - Gekiranger (2007) #1 - Kyuranger (2017)
I think I may have to watch all of these sometime...
Historia Serpentum et Draconum, 1640.
Ulisse Aldrovandi (1522-1605) is considered the founder of modern Natural History. Along with the collection of worldwide specimens, which were one of the first Wunderkammer, he used to collect drawings of animals hard to find or preserve. Thanks to artists like Agostino Carracci, Teodoro Ghisi, Jacopo Ligozzi, he created an archive of 8000 sheets, from which 3000 planks are still preserved in Bologna.
Very nice
future headcanon: Nina after graduation started writing her sibuna adventures. They quickly became a children’s book series. (obviously for reasons of privacy she changed the names) the books soon became bestsellers, and then had a film adaptation. The films have also been successful, despite the complaints of book-loving purists, but with hype for the saga, many theories have also been born, including the one in which the events told are real.
I mean, the events were... but how would they know that?
Flashback I thought of
A huge bang littered the surrounding area. The crash blew the yard around her. But the girl felt nothing out of the ordinary. Pain was her constant companion in life. All due to her degenerative disease and failing cybernetics. So. Forcing herself up, proved no different than usual. She brushed herself off.
A minor trip from the sun to the moon then to earth hurts. Gravity's quite a pain. Seriously. But hey. Her kingstone devoured to the suit to fix her injuries. Her eighth cousin's previous work handcrafted into cybernetics. Thus created a more appropriate rider form for the Century King, Shadow Moon. Now. She can enjoy the ability to fight evil like the rest of her family.
The formerly frail 6 year old smiled. She felt herself rocketing up into the air as joy filled her body. Her brown hair swaying in the air as she met the sky. Sure her distant cousin, Sumiko, might have a heart attack... but hey. Her cybernetics appeared fixed... well more stable than last time. She could move her arms all the way without feeling any pain now. In fact, the strange parts utilized in fixing her molded well into her body alongside her new cybernetics created by the cannibalized suit, her natural cybernetics and mutation. The mutation inherited from her great grandfather. And she has the new rider form to enjoy. Whatever the man did, fixed her enough to grant her an actual rider form. "Yes!! I'm fixed!! I'm fixed! I'm fixed! I finally have a true blue rider form! YES!!"
In gratitude she turns to the very confused strange brown haired man. His face scrunched up to analyze her. Everything he knew felt challenged by the pale, brown eyed, wavy long brown haired child. There's strange metal in her body along with other non human parts based off grasshoppers, grasshopper like insects and locust. Parts of her look decrepit at best. She never had an Agito seed, yet she had some grongi genetic information along with some lords and other creatures. Her bloodline had definitely had his touch from the time of Amneris. That he definitely could tell. She had access to an imperfect rider form. One she used a stolen suit cobbled together to compensate for. The newcomer bowed in gratitude, while her words reach sonic speed. "Thankyou! Thankyou!! Thankyou!"
So. Nina has a different rider form before? Wait. She's related to an actual sentai character and to cops?
... why does this seem to explain Nina's inability to lie or her tendencies to blame herself for everything?
my friend (who is a cis female) asked me today to stop using the word “girlie” to address her sometimes because she said it made her “ears all crunkly” and so I said no problem obviously
So i just want to take a second to give you a friendly reminder that gender dysphoria is not just experienced by trans/nonbinary/anyone and everyone else under the genderqueer umbrella! Cis people feel gender dysphoria too and thats okay! :)
Spread the word.

If you consume fanfic on ao3 and are 18+ and American I need you to lock in and call your senators saying you oppose a federal porn ban. This would effectively ban ao3 and being queer in public, among many other things, due to the intentionally vague language of the bill. I’m counting on queer tumblr and fandom tumblr to help me get the word out that you have to call your senators

[ HoS ] ANCIENT EGYPTIAN AMULETS
The Isis knot is just as iconic as it is mysterious. It is unclear what this knot is meant to represent exactly: some Egyptologists argue it may have been a very ancient form of menstrual pad, while others believe it had religious or decorative purposes."
The Djed Pillar, representing Osiris' spine, is a powerful amulet used by both the living and the dead. Often made from various materials, it is also depicted in Egyptian art with a pair of hands and a feathered crown topped by the sun, symbolizing Osiris and divine resurrection.
The Ancient Egyptians believed the core of our intelligence and mind was the heart, rather than the brain. They couldn’t determine this latter's purpose, so during the mummification process, they discarded it, pulling it out through the nose with a hook, leaving only the essential vital organs to be preserved for the afterlife. In fact, the heart was regarded as both the source of emotions and feelings, and the seat of one's entire being—no wonder it was shaped like a vase!
Even those unfamiliar with Ancient Egyptian art recognize this iconic symbol. Over time, the Ankh, or 'Key of Life,' became synonymous with Egypt itself and its ancient religion. Some Egyptologists suggest that its shape may have been inspired by a knotted cloth, though its use was primarily decorative.
In some murals, strings of Ankh symbols were used to represent water, as it was the ultimate symbol of life for the Egyptians—everything originated from it, making the Ankh a fitting metaphor.
In other depictions, gods are shown 'spoon-feeding' pharaohs and the dead with an Ankh in their hands, symbolizing the soul being revived by the divine as it begins its journey to the afterlife."
One of the most common artifacts found by archaeologists during excavations, the Scarab is an iconic amulet that served many purposes for both the living and the dead.
In life, it was used as a seal, a protective amulet, or simply as jewelry, often worn as a ring or necklace, typically linked to a golden wire. In death, it was frequently placed around the neck and functioned as a protective charm for the heart, earning the name 'heart scarab.'
The scarab was the sacred animal of the god Khepri and symbolized the sun.
For the Ancient Egyptians, the soul was divided into several parts—nine in total, including the physical body. It was crucial that each of these parts made it to the afterlife, allowing the dead to be reborn in the Duat, the Egyptian underworld. The Ba, which represents our unique personality, was often placed on the mummy's chest so it could rest near the heart, another key component of the soul.
In Ancient Egypt, the papyrus stem was a common decorative element. Temple columns were often shaped to resemble this iconic plant. Its frequent appearance in Egyptian art was partly due to its significant color: green, the color of resurrection, sacred to the god Osiris. By placing a papyrus-shaped amulet around a mummy’s neck, the Egyptians believed it would ensure eternal youth for the soul in the afterlife.
The Eye of Horus, modeled after the left eye of the falcon god of kingship, is one of the most iconic symbols of Ancient Egypt. Found in numerous tombs, it was continuously produced from the late Old Kingdom through to the Roman period. It served both as an amulet to ward off evil and as a decoration on boats and mummies. Representing the moon and the righteous nature of the god, it is also closely connected to other benevolent deities, such as Osiris, Thoth, and Ma'at. Tied to the story of Horus's restored eye, it became a symbol of health and healing.
Used exclusively in funerary contexts, this peculiar amulet depicts the index and middle fingers of a right hand, which were believed to 'heal' the incision made by embalmers to remove the mummy’s organs during the mummification process.
Question

What if instead of Jerome it was Mara that Willow had a crush on
Isn't it canon Willow stalked/loved Amber?
Yes. Yes it is.
If you're an American with a disability who receives government assistance, you likely qualify for an ABLE account, or you may starting next
Named for the 2014 law that created them, the Achieving a Better Life Experience Act, ABLE accounts have been available since 2016 to individuals identified by a doctor as having a disability before the age of 26. Next year, they’ll become available to those identified before the age of 46, which will increase access to an additional 6 million people, including 1 million veterans, according to Indiana State Treasurer Daniel Elliott, who administers the accounts in his state. An estimated 8 million people nationwide already qualify.
“The fact that it used to be that individuals could only save up to $2,000 or they could lose benefits — that was really restricting a lot of families,” Elliot said. “People were forced into a position where they couldn’t save for their futures. Now we’re seeing average account balances of (ABLE accounts) between $11,000 and $12,000.”
Generally, ABLE accounts may reach totals of $100,000 without affecting Supplemental Security Income. Lifetime balance limits for the various state ABLE accounts can range from around $300,000 to over $500,000. They’re administered by state treasurers, and the vast majority can be set up online via their websites. Some ABLE plans accept paper applications as well.
Anyone can contribute to an ABLE account — including the account owner, friends, family, organizations, nonprofits, and employers — up to $19,000 per year in 2025. If the account owner is able to work and not already contributing to a workplace retirement plan, they can contribute an additional amount equal to their yearly gross income. For 2025, that amount is up to an additional $15,560 to $18,810, depending on the state administering the account.
There are also tax advantages. Investment earnings from ABLE accounts remain untaxed as long as money taken from the account is used for “qualified disability expenses,” such as medical treatment, education, tutoring and job training. Account holders may choose from a number of investment options for the funds in their accounts or hold and save the money without investing it further.
Elliot said raising awareness of the accounts is the biggest challenge for the National Association of State Treasurers (NAST), for which he’s also the secretary treasurer.
“Many people are used to the idea that, ‘If I have a disability or my child has one, it could endanger their benefits to save money,’” he said. “We as a state and as a country need to start reaching out to people and saying, ‘Look, you actually can save money now. You could save towards the purchase of a home.’ The hardest thing right now is getting that message out. We need more people to be aware things have changed.”
According to NAST’s data, just 186,641 ABLE accounts existed at the end of 2024, despite an estimated 8 million people qualifying. When the age limit is raised, the accounts will also become available to people whose disabilities may have been the result of an accident in adulthood or developed later in life, such as after a COVID infection.
Andrew Warren, senior associate for policy and research at the Financial Health Network, who studies the financial circumstances of Americans with disabilities, said that the vast majority of people surveyed for a 2023 report by the organization did not know these accounts existed.
“Less than 1% of eligible individuals have these accounts,” Warren said. “Our research show that one of the major barriers to becoming financially healthy for this vulnerable group is asset limits. But there’s an information disconnect between caseworkers and direct services providers on the ground and (administrators of ABLE accounts).”
Two online resources — ABLE Today and the ABLE National Resource Center — can guide you through questions to determine if you or a friend or family member qualifies.
I honestly cannot articulate how HUGE this is.
It is not enough. Not NEARLY enough. But this is still HUGE.
This could mean the difference for becoming homeless and not becoming homeless, or having to stay in an abusive situation.
YOU COULD FUNDRAISE FOR HEALTH CARE AND NOT BE BREAKING THE MOTHERFUCKING LAW.
I kind of really need a post-canon/AU one-shot about RFS realizing that he's outlived both of his children. Maybe even scenes of him visiting their graves?
One were he meets Nina too?
That would be cool
