📺 I like cartoons (GF, SU, ATLA, SVtFoE, OtGW, TOH, HTTYD, and so on) and fiction shows (umbrella academy, good omens, the x files, the twilight zone are some faves but really I don't watch much TV) plus my movie taste is mostly queer and or 80s and 90s movies

Answering from @luvnotpercival , Thank you for the tags, they always mean a lot! This actually came to me in a weird time in my life so this is a nice intro to pride month.

[Small age]: There was the gay marriage referendum and my mum taught be about how i should accept people for loving who they wanted to be. Looking back its probably one of the most important experiences of my life.

[A little older in age, approx. 2/3 years later]: learn what sexual orientation is in school in SPHE class and proudly proclaim myself lesbian at lunch time to my friends. Oh small me, what you have to learn. I have the same thought around this time that if i were a teacher, i would want to be called sir instead of miss.

[13 y.o.]: i start secondary school and my friend comes out as nonbinary and i am realising that i don't think I fit into a box anymore causing me to spiral.

[14 y.o.]: officially Aroace! Still she/her i think. Maybe a they in there for good measure. I panic when people ask me for my pronouns.

[15 y.o.]: i realise that I'm starting to like people. And that i can identify my gender as asexual. I get terrified that i may be a trans man (even though i realise know i definitely should not have been scared lol. Oh poor small me, you have so much to learn.)

[Current]: genderfluid, pronouns are she/he/they (sometimes a xe for good meaure, they change). Still on the asexual spectrum and i like people and tend not to put a label on it. There's still a lot of self discovery to go, but I'm really happy where i am right now.

And to all my mutuals, you've helped me throughout the years and its been awesome to learn from you all. If i tag you there is no pressure to respond because i know this is rather personal for some people.

before 7th or 8th grade: super duper passionate “ally”

Summer after 7th or 8th grade: realized I was queer when I started crushing on my best friend during a theater sleep away camp. Thought I was bi for a bit

bi turned into lesbian turned into a variety of stuff over next few years- biromantic, demisexual, demigirl, etc

i would always refer to people w their pronouns and also they them because I was like well everyone’s fine with it since its gender neutral right? And thats how I started identifying as demigirl lol

as of right now, I technically am going with ace lesbian and trans/nb but I think thats only because I havent had the time to think about it or explore my identity as much lately. More accurately, it would probably be biromantic aegosexual sapphic. Gender is a whole other can o worms

In a story I wrote for class semi recently a character used xey xem pronouns and I’ve been turning them around in my mind a lot. I like the feeling of them? Idk. I haven’t actually used it yet but I wanna look more into gender.

I have a love for the name oleander that feels like the type of thing a trans person would look back on and go “yeah that was definitely a sign.”

anyway!!! Overall my mindset is kind of like “let people do what they want. Anyone should be able to identify as anything they would like to.” And in general I just say queer and trans

these get reposted a whole lot from here to reddit to twitter to tiktok and on and on, and i don't personally care whether or not i'm credited. i made these for everyone to use, enjoy, and find meaning in them. i appreciate folks who do credit me, but if able, please at least link to the threadless shop in the previous post - folks can get an official shirt where 90% of earnings go to trans led orgs focused on mental health (which is an important matter in general, but very personal to me) and not from a scam bot site selling AI-churned maga garbage where you probably won't get one anyway. i also suggest downloading the files from my ko-fi - they are free/PWYW and you can use them to make your own shirt, patch, embroidery project, whatever. tips are always nice, cuz i do like a pizza now and then, but never required for download.

final thought - breaking the pride tradition and more than likely won't make a new piece. the top one from TDOV is all i'm making this year. i have my focus on other projects currently and i don't want to force a poster design. these came from a specific head space and my current head space is Very Tired lmao so i wanna work on other things. 👍
