Everyone will not just
If your solution to some problem relies on “If everyone would just…” then you do not have a solution. Everyone is not going to just. At not time in the history of the universe has everyone just, and they’re not going to start now.
The way all the 2020s have done so far have been making me categorically against every new generation of tech that comes out is insane. Like I'm from a technological boom generation, saw the first portable phones, nokias & blackberries & flipphones etc, and the first smartphones, and the first ipods & ipads & tablets in general while still having cassettes & DVD & MP3 players around so I know how all of it work, I had computer classes in high school, I did the transition between home desktop computers to laptops and back to gaming computers. But then they started to put internet in your printer & microwave, everything has ads & AI now and every update is worst than the last. I literally loved technology and they ruined it
I wish more people did it, props to you and your mom
"warm, shallow seas" is one of the most beautiful phrases in paleontology and it's everywhere... these mollusks lived in warm, shallow seas... scientists think that photosynthetic life evolved in warm, shallow seas... in that era the Earth was covered by warm, shallow seas...
I wish I was resting by an antediluvian warm, shallow sea
Zulu Imbenge baskets are woven entirely of recycled telephone wire in the heart of KwaZulu-Natal, a province of South Africa. In the 1990s, Zulu women began repurposing discarded telephone wires, weaving them into intricate patterns to create colorful and durable baskets while preserving traditional weaving techniques.
Today’s garden harvest included over 1 kg of blackberries and a massive bushel of oregano. So I thought - what better thing to make than blackberry oregano jam?
most embarrassing thing someone can see is your youtube home page. id rather they walk in on me naked

Picked some magnolia petals and discovered as they started to wilt at creases they turned a beautiful warm brown color. Then got the idea to use a silverpoint stylus to scratch a magnolia drawing into the petal~ smells divine

hearing anything about the nolan odyssey is so funny. it's like "they cut the extremely important and infamous nobody scene" "the cyclops is a giant puppet that they put in an actual historical cave + gave circe animatronics for her pig transformation instead of cgi" "they dumped plastic skeletons in an environmentally protected location they were not supposed to be in" "they recreated ancient greek instruments in order to have an accurate score" "all of odysseus's agency is basically gone" "anne hathaway actually learned how to weave ancient looms" "the women in this movie are treated like shit" "they actually buried actors alive to get those underworld shots" "did you see what the fuck zendaya was fucking wearing holy shit you can't DO THAT, MA'AM" "what do you mean there was a legitimate epic the musical reference" "NOT A SINGLE FUCKING GREEK WAS CAST IN THIS MOVIE"
like did nolan have two guys standing at his side at all times whispering ideas in his ear and one told the truth and the other told lies and they didnt tell him which was which until they wrapped production cause
when the persona you made eats you; when the performance youve been putting on eats you; when the name they gave you eats you; when the image people made of you eats you; when the role you were assigned eats you; when the you that other people see or even made for you or you made for them takes over the you that you know and eats you alive.
Sidenote from what I can tell, even the whole "each House corresponds to a planet in the solar system" thing is unnecessary dramatic flair on the part of the First House. The Sixth House is a (mobile!) space station. Why the fuck was it orbiting Mercury if not for the bit
ohh interesting.
The resurrection beasts are the souls of the original nine planets, and we learn in Dr Sex that the soul wants to return to the body, so maybe the Houses are there to make it less attractive to the Resurrection Beasts? Or as a planetary wide form of Lyctor-battery power?
Oh. Hang on, that's. A very interesting and plausible set of theories.
I've suspected for a while that the Resurrection Beasts might be the source of necromancy. Maybe there's a House on or near every planet just for the sake of completeness. Leave no well of power untapped, no possibility unexplored. Or maybe there's some reason they'd need all the RBs to have connections to people. If they do have a way to repel the Resurrection Beasts from the Nine Houses, I'm sure they'd use it.
They might not have to. The RBs may be much more focused on hunting for John and Alecto than revisiting their own corpses, Commander Wake style. But... Does anyone remember if Varun made it to the Ninth? Last I remember it or Judith being mentioned was in the River.
a small thing i learned from my sister dying is that i really would rather the people i love be a burden than be whatever the hell else they'd be if they weren't. yes even if it's messy and not always fair and hard completely inconvenient for everyone involved. even if it's weird. even if i'm rolling my eyes a bit inside sometimes. i just want you to bother me. please always bother me
like "it's rotten work" "not to me not if it's you" actually sometimes it's still rotten work. even if it's you. and i'd still do it a million times over
