#0101. ORACLE. consigliere.

          ⸻ EXPOSITION :::

Once a living legend of the Galtean Alliance, Oracle walked the world of Ivalice over seven centuries ago. In that age, his name carried weight; an Oracle whose deeds inspired epics, stage plays, and songs whispered across nations. History, however, is a cruel archivist. Over time, his legacy eroded, surviving only as fractured myths and half-remembered fairytales.

In the year of 706 Old Valendia, the Oracle was awakened from a Galtean sarcophagus beneath the Sochen Cave Palace, and was brought into the Empire’s grasp. Oracle's perspective, his specific familiarity with the long view of things, secured him a place as consigliere to Lord Vayne. Yet, having witnessed the Empire firsthand, Oracle deems it rotten at its core; disillusioned, yet still unchanged at heart. Oracle comes from the past, and belongs in the present.

themes: political angst, institutional horror, galtean science & discovery. consigliere (reluctantly). a bio-mechanica fighting his own purpose. qplat but vayne doesn't know what queer is.

my halmarut wields a pair of tonfa. according to it, this is a more compassionate weapon than a sword, a spear, etc.

take a closer look! this is a spare page, unused:

H: “The sword asks where it must cut. The tonfa asks whether cutting is necessary at all.”

being a monk, halm is not a pacifist, it is compassionate. it would begin from the premise that destruction should not be the first solution. hence, the tonfa--blunt weapons.
