I’m enjoying the assigned reading assignment, please give us more homework to feed us between weekends. The little details you have strewn throughout each chapter makes them so fun to reread with the new information you’re revealing. Going through this feels less like looking for a needle in a haystack and more like looking for one specific needle in a seamstress’s room. I’ve tried to avoid rehashing what other asks have pointed out so far, so here’s my contribution.
“But Huck already tried to move past it, and it’s not like getting an ‘I’m sorry’ from the devil is actually going to do anything for a guy whose sins got him ripped away from his family, so…” I found this line a bit interesting with the parallel to Alastor’s mindset on saying sorry. The way his character’s been developing and the conversations he’s had recently make me think he’ll actually be apologizing soon, so I’m intrigued by how this might actually come to fruition with what you’ve set up.
Personally, I hope Alastor and Velvette patch up the whole ‘threatened to kill you’ thing by her restyling his hair and finally getting a clear photo of him to post. The Vees usually apologize to each other with bribes from what we’ve seen (unless that’s just Vox) and Velevette would probably appreciate it.
“Probably, what it means is that Lucifer is jumping to conclusions, just because most sinners are violent psychopaths and got sent to Hell for doing things like killing people or betraying their loved ones or enslaving the neighbors.
But some of them probably aren’t like that.
Charlie’s friends probably aren’t.” Lucifer’s first thought was that Husk killed his kids, and Alastor confirms later that something happened to make Husk at least somewhat responsible for their deaths, if not directly the cause. Of the sinners we’re following, both Angel and Husk feel like they betrayed their loved ones, and they’re also who Lucifer would consider friends of Charlie. Al being the only friend of Charlie’s who didn’t betray his loved ones in life while being more of a violent psychopath than anyone else is very funny to me.
“You're just incredibly narcissistic, and terrified to speak to anyone about that.” Is Al’s assessment completely accurate or was he just trying to get under his skin? I feel like with what we’ve seen of Lucifer’s POV, it isn’t an inaccurate description of him, but I also think we’re horribly biased here.
Not chapter 10 related but Lucifer giving the mop sentience seems like it will come back to bite him. I don’t think Nifty will appreciate a mop doing her job, or an even better consequence, it starts recreating the Fantasia mop scene and floods the hotel. Al leaving again should have consequences for everyone involved.
The bribe/Vees apology thing is really interesting in the context you brought it up because like -- Lucifer also seems to be big on gift-giving/"bribes" as a way to show love and affection! "Giving Charlie Stuff" is like his #1 go-to move. Which is odd when juxtaposed with how Charlie is big on words/communication/expressions of support.

And he is the one who at least arguably keeps getting betrayed! Which really helps to validate his whole "you're either the victim or the villain" mindset, unfortunately. It's also interesting to me that like-- the thing Alastor didn't do is betray his loved ones, but he doesn't actually seem to judge Angel particularly harshly for doing so. And I don't think, deep down, he's actually holding Husk's sins against him either; he just knows that Husk still does, and wanted to use whatever was available to hurt him in the moment.

I do actually think Alastor was reading Lucifer for filth here, lmao. Lucifer is the sin of Pride, and by the time Alastor says this he's spent the past few weeks post-S2 finale basically hiding from and avoiding any and all unknown sinners in the hotel!
