snWOWed in (ahaha)
Itâs not like Barry is some sheltered kid who doesnât know a fire stone from an ever stoneâ heâs seen plenty in his life! In fact, the blond would probably argue that heâs experienced more in his life than most grown up have. Then again, heâs always had an awful habit of making himself out to be bigger than he is in reality.
However, regardless of the integrity of his claims or how much heâs seen, Barry is definitely not an expert when it comes to herbal cures. And why would he? Heâs never had reason to medicate (well, except for that one thing, but heâd rather not cover the subject).
âHuh? Stick my feet in?!â Barry seems genuinely outraged by the ideaâ he hadnât even been sure which word to put emphasis on because of how preposterous the whole notion is to himâ âWââ He takes a step back from her as she bends down.
âWhat? Why?â
The queries are infinite in his mind, but all that really comes out are more âwhatâs and âwhyâs becauseâ why? What? How could he possibly benefit from this at all? Aside from it being a good, if not unorthodox way to pass the time when snowed in with an absolute strangerâ He supposes thatâs a fairly good benefit, though, at this point. After all, itâs not like the blond has anything better to do besides stick his feet in hot leaf water and honey.
Her joke flies right over Barryâs fluffy and blond head; well, if that was supposed to be a joke, that is. Yeah, hopefully she wouldnât go and do thatâ that would be a lot of money in repairs, and neither of them even live here! He just stares at her blankly for a second or two, then to the side, expression awkward and confused before he takes a step back, lifting either of his feet up and wriggling his toes.
After what seems like a less-than-internal struggle, Barry relents and sighs out an, âOkay, whatever.â Standing up straight, he cracks his back and puts Bianca beneath his scrutinizing eye. âAnyway, Iâm Barry; you never told me your name! Where are you from?â
A pause. He squints his eyes at her, eyelashes prickling together. She doesnât really look like someone who should be out traveling on her own.âWhatâre you doing here?â And, while heâs at it, the blond supposes heâll save her the trouble of asking. âIâm not from Hoenn! Iâm here to, uh, do the badge challengeâ and a ton of other stuff on the side, too!â
Maybe Barry's parents never taught him the wonders of home remedies! Bianca is really excited, too excited, to show him because, she thinks, it could be especially useful if he's a frequent victim of smelly feet... Which could be likely! Teenage boys are always prone to that stuff.
Bianca hops up from her spot on the floor, unable to keep herself from giggling at this boy's fast, urgent way of speaking. Is this what she sounds like?
"Yeah-!" she gets in, laughing loudly as the blond continues on, seemingly befuddled by this entire idea. "The herbal tea and hot water helps open your pores and lets out all the bad smellin' stuff, y'know! The lemon just makes your feet smell all the better!"
As Bianca pours the boiled water into the bowl and begins to unwrap bags of tea, dropping them into the bowl, she finds herself a little overwhelmed by all of the questions coming from her new companion's mouth -- the companion now known as Barry!
She smiles a friendly smile over her shoulder.
"It's real nice to meetcha, Barry! I'm Bianca, from Unova!" she answers, quickly maneuvering to retrieve and slice up some a few lemons; which she would replace, of course, along with the tea.Â
Bianca squeezes and drops the lemon wedges into the bowl, leaving one out to pop into her mouth and suck on.Â
"I'm here on research! I'm Professor Juniper's assistant back in Nuvema Town," she continues, lifting the bowl and bringing it into the living room. "If you're not from Hoenn, then, Barry, where do ya hail from?"
She sets the bowl down in front of a chair and sticks her arms out in a presenting fashion.
"Now, take a seat and stick them piggies on in!"
