I was surprised when I read the character, I said, “My goodness, this is so human. This is so me”… what caused her to split personalities was her childhood trauma, and that’s just so true to a lot of us who are dealing with mental health issues. That she uses those personalities, and that they came to her defense as a way of survival, it just reminds me every day that we’re all surviving. We have multiple selves that come to the rescue when we need them.

This fucking show hurts so much. I love everything about it. The heartfelt flawed rawness of these people. Jane fighting for her life(ves) just to keep her head above water from her trauma, Rita's ability to frustrate you with her seeming superficiality but be the first to show, through decades self hatred and self loathing, self Acceptance and growth from her mistakes and reach some level of forgiveness for herself and leaving room for improvement. Larry's inability to forgive his past and literally torturing himself and Negative spirit , thinking the world is better, his kids are better, his secret lover is better without him. Fucking Cyborg seeming like the only one with his shit together then not actually knowing whats real and whats not about himself. And Cliff begrudgingly realizing he'd fallen into the same pattern as his father he hoped he never would. But together these wonderful basket cases bring out the hope in each other, plus or minus the foot dragging and cussing out and arguments. The humanity is so strong in these guys and it rips at my heart. If seen myself and people i love in them and this line hits me like a ton of Danny the Bricks.
