honestly one of the best parts of finally watching critical role campaign 2 is getting to see the surgical precision with which liam o brien improvises a fandom-bait meow meow character. like logically at this point we all know there's a factory in the san fernando valley or somewhere where media industries assembly line produce bisexual white men with guilty eyes and tragic backstories to generate merch sales, but rarely do we get the pleasure of watching a middle-aged d-list actor demonstrate semi off the cuff technical mastery over how to get tumblr users to crash out over a fictional man. they used to show this live thursday nights on twitch.tv

watching an essek early scenes compilation and losing my mind over the mighty nein going "this really powerful guy that keeps giving our wizard spells and driving us around everywhere loves ominously mentioning how we're gonna have to pay him back soon... but hes niceys so im sure it'll be fine!" and then it literally was fine. he never asked for a single favour back. he almost started to but then they caught him doing treason and made him cry so it was forgiven. its like they're on a path of the most obvious foreshadowing in the world but jester keeps painting all the cobblestones bright pink. matt fighting for his life dropping increasingly unsubtle hints that this guy is not to be trusted but then they trust him anyway and it works out in their favour like this is the only character in the whole campaign they're not immediately plotting to kill, who starts off secretly plotting to kill them, but then without even consciously trying they change his mind through the power of friendship so it turns out they were right all along. who on earth is doing it like the mighty nein

i love the part in m9a where theyre talking about essek like aw hes so young and its his first life so obviously hes making mistakes hes only elf 20! not because i dont think hes old enough to be responsible for his actions but because it makes it funnier like not only is the guy that committed the highest level of treason the prodigy and queens shadowhand but hes also like super young to us this is so fucked up why did we let the elf 20 year old we all know doesnt really like us that much manage the torture chambers and access all the highest security areas omg

Dagger with Scabbard

Indian, Mughal 1605–27

The hilt of the dagger is constructed of heavy sections of gold over an iron core and its scabbard mounts are of solid gold. All the intricately engraved surfaces are set with gems and colored glass finely cut with floral forms. The designs closely parallel those in Mughal painting of the early seventeenth century, suggesting the dagger dates from the reign of Emperor Jahangir (1605–27), whose deep love of nature, especially flowers, is well documented in his memoirs, the "Tuzuk." The blade is forged of watered steel.
