I TRULY believe that we can set aside our differences and become friends, despite what instruments we play! Therefore, I will say something nice about everyone!

1st violin: They play very difficult parts, and it is amazing that they lead the orchestra how they do!

2nd violin: Also have difficult parts, and the first violins couldn’t hold up without them!

Viola: Beautiful and balanced sound! They have instruments bigger than violins, which makes them more difficult to play, but their parts are easier!

Cello: They can play as low as a bass and as high as a violin! That’s very cool and makes them unique.

Bass: They set the tempo for the song! Their parts may be boring at times, but they shift all the time, which everyone else tends to struggle with!

What happened to teachers who actually teach?

Mr. Orchestra Teacher made a point about this yesterday, that teachers now just give busy work, which is bad for your development. I remember my old geography teacher who made engaging lessons and made me love history and geography. Now, my bio teacher makes AI assignments that we never even turn in. My english teacher puts question marks on my assignments. I don’t know either. What if you told me what I did wrong because it’s not that I’m dumb. It’s that I stayed up till 10 trying to figure out this question before it was due. Because I didn’t understand. My history teacher gives us assignments and expects us to find all the answers in the textbook. My math teacher just does the notes but doesn’t tell me what she did to find and graph X. I had to learn that from one of my friends who learned it from a youtube video. No wonder students are burnt out. We have to teach ourselves just to get a number that will define our entire futures. If that number is low, you’re lazy and a trouble kid. If that number is high, you’re smart and a competent member of society. Yet what they don’t know is that all of us, number high or low, we work hard for that future. Because no one wants to live in the streets because of a stupid number.

I keep forgetting that tumblr exists but we just had our opening night of the talent show and I didn’t mess up!!! The orchestra act is at the end of act 1 and I had a cue in the middle of act 1. Thursday rehearsal, I FORGOT that I had to strike the mic stand and went to go change and missed that cue but it was fine! I did NOT forget that cue yesterday. We were performing an arrangement of “Going Home” from the new world and it was perfect.

Boston trip day one

So I just discovered that Mr. Orchestra Teacher has an identical twin??? So now we are terrified with the thought of there being another, scarier Mr. Orchestra Teacher. An Evil Mr. Orchestra Teacher.

I just went on a bike ride for the first time in several years and it was going really well and really fun until we reach the end of the trail. There’s a pole there to stop cars from going on the trail and the thing about cycling is that if you look at something, you will go towards it. So I looked at the pole. And ran straight into it. So then I was laying spread eagle on the ground since I got hit directly in the stomach. Then some guy walks by and says to my dad “Nice weather, isn’t it?”

I’m back from having the plague and upon seeing me, he stopped. Stared at me. Said “… are you okay” then cornered me about missing assignments for the second time in 2 weeks.

The cellos and basses messed up and my teacher tried to blame it on the violins, but they weren’t playing and he says the violas “can do no wrong”

I haven’t been posting much since I’ve had tech week but we just finished show 1!!!! It went SO GOOD. And I told all my friends to go to the last show because that’s always the best one, Anyways!! Quote from Mr. Orchestra Teacher today “aAHH. People.”

Reminder to any actors in a theater production: Be nice to and respect crew. We work just as hard as you do, and if you’re rude, we’ll tell you on the stage manager. And the stage manager is gonna tell you on the director. This is targeted to the guy who rolled his eyes when I asked to make a path backstage. Fuck you.
