New year, new blog, same me falling down the rabbit hole of another fandom.
This sideblog exists because there were a lot of Frieren-related things that I wanted to reblog and discuss but I didn't want to clutter up my main, which is currently focused on a different fandom.
This blog will consist mostly of images from the manga, anime, gifs, screencaps, official art, and fanart.
I'll also be posting thoughts about the manga as I re-read. (tagged: ordinary mage reads)
Anything beyond the current episode of the anime will be tagged with "Frieren manga spoilers". Manga chapters are tagged as "Frieren + chapter number" (ie: "Frieren 119")

*As a courtesy, I'm not a huge fan of frieren x himmel as romantic ship. I don't mind it, but I prefer the complexity of their canon relationship and don't believe that romantic relationships are inherently better/deeper than platonic ones.

Papercraft commission of Frieren! I love this series, so I was extra excited to make this piece. ^_^
Since I had free choice of what spell to depict, I picked the Vollzanbel/black hole spell from the big magic fight in episode 25, because I thought it would look especially rad made out of shimmery holographic paper. Plus, I also got to make flying rocks! Bursts of fiery light! Lots of drama!! And, my favorite part - I got to go super, wildly detailed with Frieren's hair!
This was such a beautiful year in anime alongside the animation soundtrack probably one of my favorites Frieren. Definitely want to take time to go ahead and do a rendition. I had one that I did a sketchbook once that was for a watercolor piece, but happy I was able to bring it out digitally.

I decided to draw Frieren with her teacher, Flamme, and later on with her apprentice, Fern. Having the passage of time as a central focus of the series, I depicted different phases in Frieren's life through the four seasons, each season reflecting a different stage of life 🌻🍂❄️🌷
