A "sequel, spin-off" fan comic based on Organo's(Gowan's) appearance in the movie "Another WolfCop"! Updates when I can. OFFICIAL ORGANO REF SHEET

I finally pinned down an official reference sheet for my Maplepire depiction of Organo.

Included a lot of detail for this, so the most frequent questions I've gotten should be answered here.

Done in Autodesk SketchBook in about 8 hours total.

Additional notes:

▪︎"Transformed at" age is based on the approx date of filming Another WolfCop (2015)

▪︎ Why the no pants? Gowan had stated in a interview that Organo doesn't need pants if he's behind a hockey rink organ all day(sound logic if you ask me 🤷‍♀️)

▪︎"hick mechanic" refers to Willie Higgins(Jonathan Cherry's character) - who shot Organo in the head during the film's climax

▪︎ Based his in-comic trench coat on one I had designed for a couple paintings I did of Gowan back in 2015. The rest of his outfit is taken from wardrobe items Gowan already owns/owned

▪︎ His claw design is such that it would be easier for me to draw in haste - not a logical structural design. (I realize this would be rather difficult to replicate IRL for cosplay, I apologize)

▪︎I made the fang-flipping canon, as I realized I kept switching them up page-to-page

▪︎ Even though the comic itself is black and white, I made a colour palette for chapter covers, future graphic designs, and for any one who wanted to make fan art of O. (For consistency!)

▪︎added the RUSH reference of 2112 for the in-hat pocketwatch just because

Merry Christmas, ya strange animals! Just in time for the day of giving, I give y'all a bit of a treat.

I know I did a poll on my personal page on which one I should finish, but decided to do *all* of them in light of the Xmas season!

Comic Update #????

I know it’s been a while since y'all've heard from me here. I apologize. Things aren’t as good as they were when I started this thing a couple years back. Time is a fickle beast.....

I tried to promise a timely weekly serial on the outset – at that point it looked promising and viable! But after about 6 weeks, my timing began to crumble with my 2 jobs taking full helm of most of my waking hours:

> I wouldn’t be able to make the Wednesday deadline, so I made it "once-weekly" to make up for not being timely on the day of the week it was meant to be posted.

> One week would be pushed back, then was caught up by a double page week, then weeks were skipped due to work timing stuff

> then I tried to fill gaps with other artworks(conceptual and whatnot), including when inktober took over for a bit so this blog wasn't completely dead...

> ...and then, honestly, I lost steam. After 13 pages, I had to step back and focus on life things that kept making me put this project on the back burner. I had to - not move on, but - keep my mind focused on my job and my sister’s health(and my own).

Yes, I made a new page after a while, #14, but that one had so many setbacks with my art program constantly losing progress, then my computer itself failing last summer(thanks 2020!!), it put a bitter taste in my mouth for comic making for a bit. But at least I stuck with this project to finally hash out a ref sheet and to put down my concept for an 80s version(on a whim mind you, but still relevant!)

I do have a few ideas hashed out in my sketchbook for the next set of pages, that includes introducing Yannick Bisson’s character Sidney Swallows back in and a meetup/confrontation between WolfCop and Organo. AND I finally have the motivation to actually sit down and start, so hopefully after the holidays....

I’ll have a new page for y’all in the new year!?!?(or maybe in time for Christmas??? With my current motivation that’s likely!!)

80s!Organo Concept Sheet

Here he is! The Maple-syrup-chugging, undead boi! (Eh rather, the 1980s version of him lol)

Had this concept in my head for a while but hadn't really nailed down his full aesthetic til recently.

I based his outfit on things I nabbed at @spirithalloween-blog (coat, fangs, claws, and base of the cane) and things I already owned. I made the cane topper slightly different IRL than what's depicted here, but I will do a full costume/cosplay reveal soon.

I made his hair a combination of Gowan's current colourfully streaked hair, coupled with the mullet he had back in the 80s.

(Also went for a more gothic/punk look with the skeleton bits and bobs)

Making a ref sheet for my Organo webcomic (because I have been asked by a couple ppl for an official ref of this guy) and got a bit caught up drawing muscles, where in the end they’ll be (mostly) covered by clothing. 🥴🤪

I usually do this whenever I draw people in general(even if they are of a skinnier/fluffier build), so I can get the proportions right when doing linework.

(Also they won’t be quite so rippling when I go to do linework - again, I do this for proper structure)

A graphic design partially inspired by the 80s shirts of yesteryear, and a bit inspired by the MTV Cribs episode where Lawrence Gowan takes a big ol swig of some maple syrup lol

Organo's go-to is the Liquor Donuts #3 Dark Organic Maple Syrup.

Finished this design over the past couple weeks in Autodesk SketchBook. Done in approx. 8 hours.

INKTOBER - DAY 1 “Ring”
