as someone who is Undiagnosed But Pretty Damn Sure about having Autism jervis (at least in btas) reads to me as an undiagnosed autistic man who spent most of his life trying (and horrendously failing) to mask his autistic traits in a desperate attempt to be more 'tolerable' to his neurotypical peers who (after a combination of Misread Social Cues and Generally Weird Incel Behavior Towards Woman) ends up deciding "Y'KNOW WHAT? I AM TIRED OF BEING NICE. I'M GOING APESH!T!!" (/ref) and now post Alice Canon Event he is now reveling in the fact he can just be himself for the first time in probable years around other people without feeling bad about it (for better and for worse) because hes a VILLAIN!! he doesn't have to be liked by other people anymore!! hes supposed to be despised so why not lean into the things people hated the most about him!! So i had saw on twitter that in this new batfam show The Mad Hatter has a kid?? And after doing some research i found he has two and with them seemingly around college age, i thought “so, did he have a family before becoming the mad hatter?” And mixing this thought with the joke i had made earlier about how btas jervis being a rogue is just him having a midlife crisis, i had the FUNNIEST POSSIBLE IDEA for a jervis origin:

actually yk what the wildest thing about btas jervis is that in the perspective of the criminal underworld that man came outta NOWHERE. Because the other villains first episodes implied their shit was premeditated, or at least had prep time. like Jonathan, Pam, and Edward had planned their shit long before Bruce ever even knew about it, and for Harvey Dent in the inbetween of his 2 parter hed been Two-Face for like 6 months after the accident. Jervis Tetch? HE DID ALL OF THAT SHIT IN THE SPAN OF 2 FUCKING DAYS. Sure hed already been working on mind control tech before then, but he didnt seem to plan to really use them for crime until Alice got broken up with.
