This is going to sound weird, but I just watched Shrek and I think Damon looks like Lord Farquad.

Can I ask why it is that you dislike damon (because he's an awful person and a rapist and you know the drill) but then do seem to like kol? Because he's also a murderer and a pretty bad person, at least imo.

Kol tried to kill Jer to stop them from freeing Silas.Damon killed/tries to kill Jer every time Elena won’t kiss him.

I think what these people who ask these types of questions don’t understand is that a large part of why I hate Damon so much is because of all the shit he gets away with. Kol tried to kill Jeremy and died immediately. He’s dead forever and even with a lot of his fans begging for him to be brough back, JP’s response was that there was no place for him on the show because he’s such a bad guy. Meanwhile, Damon still goes around killing people and doing all the horrible things that he does while people make excuses for him and brush it off like it’s nothing. He’s romanticized, shipped with the “heroine” of the story and being called a hero. Kol died trying to save the ENTIRE world from someone he thought would destroy it and he wasn’t deemed a hero. So, when people ask why we could possibly like Kol or Silas, that’s why. They were villain-type characters who were treated as villain-type characters. Sure, some people shipped Kol with Bonnie and Silas had Amara but they both ended up dying as a result of what would be considered a villainious act on their part. Then we have Damon who is just as bad or worse and he had one of the most peaceful “deaths” we have seen on this show to date and that’s just fucked up.
