I had to make a ridiculous fast paint of Mads Mikkelsen doing the pouty lips thing because he's ALWAYS doing the pouty lip thing!! 🤣 I can't figure out which interview the original shot was from (2004 maybe?) but it's my favorite. I attached a collage of 4 of them - do you have a favorite? This one was made almost entirely with PhotoscapeXPro's "Draw" brushes, as opposed to the "Paint" brushes (don't even get me started.) Anyway, I don't know what I'm going to do when I end up with a new enough machine that the software doesn't run on it anymore 😢

I originally created a series of very silly decoupage Jeff Goldblum pop art 🎨🖌️🫟 for my mom to cheer her up. When I found the old versions last week, I decided I needed to remake them because now *I* need cheering up *gestures at news feed* for obvious reasons. And because I want a spiral notebook and cards & stickers to send out, I've also uploaded these to Redbubble and Teepublic. They'll be going up on Neatoshop as well. Original drafts created in Photo Lab on my phone 🤣 Redone in GIMP and PhotoscapeXPro.

This is the rough draft created in Photo Lab on my phone about 7 years ago. Remakes combine superflat with digital decoupage in the new versions. (PhotoscapeXPro is old af, but it has loads of great brushes and digital assets.)

I finally got around to Kira and Dax - the pairing I was always hoping for. (Picture contains artwork link.)

The ref pic was a behind the scenes shot from "You Are Cordially Invited". As ref pics go, it was pretty terrible - too dark to see details, but the pose was so adorable, how could I resist?

They're adorable and I love them. That is all.

The Expanse - Low budget spin-off shows I'd watch the hell out of . . .

Since making more The Expanse would be expensive, I propose some super low cost projects that could tide us Screaming Firehawks over for a little while. Here are shows I'd throw my subscription dollars at. A thread, in no particular order:

1/ Elvi and Fayez doing science while Fayez tries repeatedly to get Elvi to eat something and/or take a nap.

2/ Tales of Muskrat the Very Good Space Doggo

3/ Prax making botany metaphors about non-botany things. Possibly while doing crime.

4/ Recut Season 4 with just the Amos and Murtry scenes and set it to the music of The Good The Bad and The Ugly. Just loop it - I'd watch that all day.

5/ Avasarala writing mean, sweary texts to people.

6/ Avasarala trying outfits on from her closet. That's it.

Elizabeth Bear Awesome Ship Names

I love funny ship names in Sci-Fi, and Elizabeth Bear does not disappoint. Here are a few from the White Space series:

Packet Ship: "I Bring Tidings from Afar" <-- it's a courier, so that makes total sense.

Ambulance Ship: "I Race to Seek the Living" <-- perfect name for an ambulance!

Relief Ship: "I Salve Harsh Wounds with Mercy" <-- - awww, so soothing, right?

Judiciary Ships: "I Really Don't Have Time For Your Nonsense" and "I'll Explain It To You Slowly" . . . well now 😆

"There has been a lot of interest in the lyrics I wrote to the main title of the show Expanse so here is some info! I wanted to reference the beautiful Norwegian language..note the word reference! so below are the words I used and a very rough translation of their meaning! Clinton Shorter wrote a gorgeous and inspiring piece!

Very often I am inspired while in the car or on a walk and scribble words on kleenex or my hand....not good for cataloging! All of you from Norway, feel free to laugh and cry at my lack of proper syntax and grammar, not to mention pronunciation ! would love your comments, but no hate please! go elsewhere for that."
