Odette turned and raised an eyebrow at the man. “Excuse me? I’m sorry are you talking to me?”

“Oh, of course I am.” He retorted in a tone that dripped with sarcasm, emphasizing his point with a nod. “I have no fuckin’ idea who you are, but I was sooo worried about you. My favourite T is on your back, so turn around and let me get her, eh?”

“What? Me?”

“No, not you.” His brows furrowed as he eyed her, almost as if she’d said something impossibly stupid. “I’m talkin’ to my spider, so stand still.” He let out a sigh and circled the blonde, coaxing the unusually large tarantula from the back of her cardigan.

It only took a simple tap on the shoulder to have Stephanie slip her fingers into her pocket to take hold of the little knife she had and as soon as she turned, with her face hidden behind her long blonde hair, she was ready to strike. But instead of slashing the males face, she simply stared. Watching as the spider crawled out and onto his cheek with the deadest of expressions on her face. Stephanie was unimpressed. “Am I getting harder to scare or after all these years, have you lost your mojo?”

Though he enjoyed the feeling of the small arachnid scaling his cheek, he slipped his slender fingers beneath her fuzzy legs and pried her away, instead settling her upon his shoulder. 

“Gettin’ harder to scare?” He mused aloud as he stepped closer to her, dark eyes examining the familiar face--he’d seen the way she tensed, the way she’d reached into her pocket and considering they were friends, he knew what she kept there. Despite that title, she was never truly safe from being toyed with, which became apparent as he slid closer yet, almost to the point there was no space between them. He paid no mind to the dwarf tarantula traversing his broad shoulders as he bent at the waist, his face just a little too close to hers as his hand (admittedly much larger than hers) forced its way into her pocket to snatch the blade from between her fingers. “For somebody who wasn’t scared, ya sure reached for this real quick, Shock.”

Without a word, Ormand outstretched his hand and tapped upon the other’s shoulder, waiting for them to turn so he could make their skin crawl. Once the figure turned towards him, he arched his brows and let his already slackened jaw fall open, two fuzzy legs emerging from between his teeth at first; it became apparent quickly he had a small spider held in his mouth. He remained still for its sake until it had climbed up onto his cheek, at which point his lips curled into a smirk, but he didn’t say anything.

“Who are you?” 

“Oh, I wasn’t talking to you, sweetcheeks.” He cooed at her in a patronizing manner. “I was talking to the beautiful eight-legged lady on your book bag--don’t move, you’ll startle her.” His tone quickly switched to something more serious, more demanding; he did not fancy having to chase after the spider again should she scare it. Or worse, for it to be killed. As he stepped closer, he circled the woman and picked the arachnid up with great care. “Ah, there you are. Daddy’s got you.”

“And by the way,” he turned his gaze back to the brunette. “My name’s Ormand, but you may call me Oogie.”

“There you are! I’ve been lookin’ everywhere for you! I was worried sick.”
