maybe it's petty as fuck, but I’ve been subjected to some of the most awful attempts at Pittsburghese/yinzer accents my entire life and it’s really annoying watching someone receive her second Emmy nomination for what has hands down been two of the worst attempts I’ve heard.

what can genuinely drive me up the wall is that outside of male characters getting far more support forgiveness and general adoration, that whenever you do the same for a female character to combat all the misogyny and distrust or lack of support towards her, there are genuinely people who will say “wowwww [x supporters] will act like she has zero flaws it’s so annoying 🙄” and it’s like. wow, you really cannot think of a female character in a positive way, can you? you genuinely can’t think about her as anything else than her flaws or mistakes. would it kill you to like her? to support her and enjoy her without bringing up all the things you think are bad about her? because to me it just feels like you’re listing all the reasons she’s unworthy of support while you glaze male characters for equal or oftentimes worse behavior. you are misogynistic!!!! liking a woman should not be this hard for you. i’m sick of you guys

Dreaming about what season 5 could have been if both Jonathan and Steve fell off the radio tower in the 1st episode during their stupid macho dick measuring contest so that Nancy and Robin could have spent the season lezzing out and solving mysteries together without that awful tired excuse of love triangle hanging over everyone’s heads

It’s so hard loving a complex fictional woman because assholes will try to turn you against her by listing off all her flaws and it’s like yeah no shit, that’s the whole point. What aren’t you getting about this?

some of yinz are participating in fandoms with your eyes closed if you’re “literally never seeing” this shit because it’s something I can’t fucking escape.

Having to argue with misogynists because I didn’t include a warning that I don’t condone all of a woman’s actions is a regular occurrence for me. I have to defend an actress if I ever talk about her because people shit on her performance solely because she plays a character who isn’t palatable. I am constantly seeing people glaze their favorite “widdle guy’s” actions and excuse them for some heinous shit and then turn around and demonize women in the same piece of media for doing much much less. It’s fucking constant.

There’s a reason people are complaining about this shit, just because you “literally never see” it doesn’t change the fact that it’s happening and we’re sick of it.

I acknowledge it’s probably extremely hypocritical of me to feel this way, but I think that the The Pitt’s 25 Emmy noms for season 2 is extremely excessive, but at the same time I think Hacks deserved every one of their 24 nominations and am praying that Jean Smart wins her 5th consecutive Emmy for her portrayal of Deborah Vance

One thing I really appreciate about Isa Briones' acting in the Pitt is that its very nuanced. Its all in the details.

Santos is not necessarily loud but she is not afraid to speak up. She's confident and has a strong sense of justice. After only knowing javadi for a little while she was already calling her "crash" and when she suspected child abuse is was halfway ready to go war for that kid. Trinity isn't scared to say what she wants to say.

However, even though trinity is very capable of expressing herself, when she's hurt she gets quiet or angry. Trinity doesn't bust into tears, she doesn't make a scene, you can only tell by watching her face change. Its the small details that make the changes and that's so important for Trinity, she communicates non verbally.

Isa Briones understands Trinity so well and can act her so incredibly, its a shame she wasn't nominated for the Emmy's this year. I'm genuinely surprised cause I kind of expected her to be.

i mean katherine lanasa is a great acress and all that but it was kinda over for me when dana got a rape storyline when katherine herself actively defends and supports her rapist son who intoxicated and raped a young teenager several times and avoided paying half the settlement to the victim

It’s all about nuanced and depth until it’s a woman and then it’s all “how can I read everything she does in the most bad faith way humanly possible?”

Guess who’s getting yelled at for saying she thinks Isa Briones was snubbed because apparently Santos is completely unlikable so that means that Isa’s performance was awful and bad and undeserving of an Emmy nomination.

I love thinking about how Nancy would spiral when her and Robin finally talk about Barb for the first time.

It’s post season 4 and the two of them are getting closer, they bond over about how difficult all the upside down bullshit has been and it’s such a relief now that Nancy has someone she can actually talk to about everything, she hasn’t had a friend she could confide in like this since Barb.

Naturally Barb would come up in conversation, she can’t not, her death is what’s been driving Nancy’s fight for years at this point. Both girls knew her and Robin has learned the truth about Barb’s disappearance after her initiation into Steve Harrington’s weird and fucked up little friend group.

Robin now knows exactly what Nancy did for Barb, the lengths she went to bring her some small bit of justice, fighting an impossible battle against the United States government, it quite winning but not exactly losing either, all for Barbra.

Robin would end up joking about how she used to “hate” Nancy because Barb used to be her best friend before Nancy “stole her”, but she realized maybe Nancy Wheeler isn’t as bad as she thought and that she appreciates everything she’s done for Barb.

And it would hit Nancy hard. She's sitting here now grappling with the absolutely crushing fact that she's stolen Barb from Robin.

And she’s done it twice.

Once as kids and again that night at Steve's. She selfishly took Barbara out of Robin's life twice and she's sitting here being thanked for it?

Not only does it feel like she's replacing Barb, but she's actively replacing her with Barb's childhood best friend, the one she stole Barb from in the first place.

The guilt would absolutely eat her alive.
