About me:
just thought about the does orv have themes post for the first time in awhile and felt such a sense of warmth wash over me. lets all think about it again.
does this person have any idea how iconic they are to me
i dont think i ever posted this #dokjaeda from 2024
I've never read Homestuck but there's a type of media that I call "a Homestuck" and I think it's a useful categorization. The main criteria are:
long enough that the time investment is a serious barrier to entry
irrevocably changes your personality
brings something genuinely unique to the table. there is no real substitute for reading/playing/watching it in its entirety
Fate/Stay Night is a Homestuck. Worm is a Homestuck. When They Cry is a Homestuck.
Undertale has cultural impact similar to a Homestuck at first glance, but the fact that it's a pretty short and accessible game means that you don't get the particular mix of sunk cost fallacy and an intimate experience with a piece of media that results in you needing to connect with others who have already put in the time investment. You can buy your friends Undertale and expect them to play it if they're not too busy; telling a friend to read Homestuck is giving them a quest that, if accepted, will spark an odyssey. to read someone's Homestuck is an act of love without true equivalent.
girl nothing is ever gonna be all the way together just enjoy the bits and pieces #yourfragments
the Kim Dokja shaped hole in my heart
when i die they'll remember me fondly because i never bothered anyone with anything. not even once 😁 #myisolation

Hey, where do you read the orv novel?
As things stand, you have a few choices.
The original english translation, which is currently the only complete english translation, was mostly mtled and can be a bit clunky, but you can find it here to download and read offline.
edit: there's the orv reader project which i did not know about until now thanks snarp. Web hosted version that contains the ebook illustrations and side story, along with offering epub downloads althougt snarp reports these as being pretty buggy so ymmv.
The official english translation is being put out by yen press, and physical editions can be purchased from a variety of retailers. amazon and Indigo have ebook editions, and amazon and barnes and noble have audiobook versions. If there are pirated copies of these ebook and audiobook editions out there somewhere, I'm not personally aware of where to find them. But I also haven't looked. Two volumes of the novel have currently been translated to english by yen press, with the third coming in March of 26
@orvretranslationproject is a fan translation team doing great work to put out what they believe to be a more definitive edition of the orv novel. I've been reading this retranslation myself recently and I think they're doing an excellent job. You can access these translations by contacting them at the email address listed on their pinned post. I would personally recommend starting with this translation. From there, you can either switch to the MTL or wait for further releases from the team depending on your preferences. They currently have 3 volumes translated as of December 2025 and will likely continue releasing at a quicker cadence than the yen press tl.
happy birthday to that squid that I hate.
excerpt from this
someone should really tell yoo joonghyuk that the world (the stage) is free and wide
releasing these to the world.. 2024 lingerie dokjas + yjh hands (used refs for all).... i see so much wrong with these anatomically now..... I hope youll appreciate them despite this having nothing to do with orv. I was just simultaneously into orv and lingerie/fashion etc.
funniest orv scene maybe is jhw finally not having to work within the good/evil morality restrictions and instead getting to execute people based off of who the groupchat thinks should die
SHE SAID
inspired by Andrew Lyman
wont post this on main but i was digging through my 2024 drawings folder and this is one of the few suggestive? kim dokjas in lingerie i made when i was delirious that i think came out decent.. i was obsessed with kdj in teal...... okthats all. enjoy?
dream on, dream on
