A piece for a fascinating article in the science publication Nautilus, which argues that predictions about the future consistently fall down because of a preoccupation with consumer tech and a failure to anticipate social change. A tricky thing to encapsulate visually, but hopefully this says something about our tendency to project our current values and circumstances on to both the past and future.
