The  state  of  him  is  nothing  new.  This  mortal  career  corrupts  his  young  mind,  and  he  plummets  from  rage  and  man-made  stimulants.  He  is  high,  or  coming  down  from  it,  but  the  room  that  holds  him  is  a  wreck.  Akasha  doesn't  need  to  conspire  about  what's  happened.  Another  betrayal  by  his  mother,  or  better  yet,  one  of  his  loves.  She  judges  it's  Louis  by  the  way  Lestat's  chest  heaves. She  is  careful  to  not  enrage  him  by  breaching  his  mind.  His  state  is  delicate.  And  yet  she's  always  loved  how  busy  Lestat  is  with  his  fledglings.  What  love  and  care  went  into  them  till  the  inevitable  happens.  They  all  turn  on  you.

All  of  her  children  had  turned  on  her  except  for  him.

She  brings  a  chair  to  her  side  with  a  mere  thought  and  sits,  then  guides  Lestat's  head  to  her  lap.  ❝  Tell  me.  Which  one  hurt  you  ?  ❞  Which  one  should  she  set  on  fire?  Their  weak  flesh  is  no  match  for  her  will,  which  only  grows  as  Lestat  influences  mortals  to  worship  vampires.

yennefer's  words  echo  through  the  gate  and  the  empty  pavement,  save  for  the  guards  and  the  witcher  atop  his  horse.  her  voice  had  thinned  hysterically,  as  it  always  did  when  she  got  angry  at  him.  when  she  yells  and  screams,  geralt  knows  too  well  how  it  ends.  he  must  leave.  they  cannot  come  to  terms,  their  pride  is  too  big.  small  squabbles  turn  into  outrageous  arguments,  and  then  he  says  something  ugly  that  he  does  not  mean.  only  to  hurt  her,  and  to  deny  himself  too.  emotions  he  should  not  feel  and  is  afraid  to  express  bubble  up.  he  must  go  on  his  way.

he  pushes  roach,  and  the  scrawny  mare  gives  a  snort  before  she  speeds.  hooves  clatter,  and  he  does  not  look  back,  afraid  of  seeing  yennefer's  face  somewhere  in  the  distance.  her  voice  begins  to  fade,  but  his  heart  is  still  beating  too  fast.

only  when  the  house  is  embraced  in  the  early  morning  mist  does  he  gaze  back.

nothing,  of  course.  she  would  never  chase  after  him,  it's  not  what  he  expects.  he  is  not  sure  what  he's  hoping  for,  but  there's  a  void  and  the  hurt  that  he  carries  anew.

yennefer  will  forgive  him.  perhaps  never  forget,  and  she  may  mention  this  the  next  time  they  run  into  one  another,  when  geralt  tracks  her  down  or  seeks  her  openly.  already  he  is  yearning  for  it  —  her  eyes  ablaze  with  anger  and  pain  but  her  violet  eyes...  time  will  somewhat  mend  what  is  left  unsaid.

the  witcher  looks  back  to  the  road  ahead  and  spurs  roach  to  gallop.

notes:

half points on: spoils her/acts on whims, can handle her when she's mean or teasing, bottom switch, allows grier to lead. takeaways are.... grier is going to have to fight laera to lead, at least a little bit. control is something she doesn't give up easily! and while laera can handle teasing, banter, jabs, being unnecessarily mean is a turn off for her; it might make laera say something she regrets or particularly mean herself. she also doesn't gravitate towards being a bottom, but she can switch, with coaxing. lastly, laera isn't spontaneous; there's always some level of thought behind her actions and she isn't materialistic either. she can absolutely spoil grier with attention or thoughtful gestures, but gifts....? not often, i fear. :(

laera is about half of a person grier is looking for. she's protective, caring, and attentive. she's also all right with grier's magic and also during sex (tbh she'd probably really enjoy that). she's also a criminal which comes with its own rules like don't rat out companions, etc etc. she's good to have as a loyal, present partner...

...but leading into the more 'occult' side of things is where laera has to back out. obsession, worship, and blood drinking are big No's for her. laera already escaped organised religion and anything that remotely resembles it leaves her wary.

she also is not one for casual romance.

all in all, grier can absolutely shoot her shot. ;)

let  them  fiiiight.  i'd  LOVE  to  see  that.  grier  can  be  versatile,  if  she  wishes.  but  there  will  be  fights  in  and  out  the  sheets,  ngl.  [non  physical  fights  ofc].  the  spoiling  isn't  strictly  materialistic.  spoiling  her  means  doing  little  things  for  her  and  looking  after  her  <3  the  gestures  are  enough.

it  depends  on  which  side  you're  looking  for.  this  is  half  perfect  😉

so  the  blood  drinking  isn't  required  and  it  doesn't  require  her  to  participate.  it's  just  something  i've  discovered  grier  likes  in  her  partners.  [vampires.  tieflings  being  omivores].  she's  not  expecting  her  blood  to  be  drank. 

the  worship/obsession  part  isn't  too  literal.  COULD  BE.  but  you  have  to  body  worship  and  make  her  feel  like  she's  the  most  wanted  and  a  goddess.  it's  more  of  affection/touch/sexual  thing.  obsessed  in  a  way  you  can't  part  long  from  her.  BUT  we  understand  that  laera  still  might  not  agree  bc  of  her  past.  we  try  to  be  respectful
