As I sit and think of Damar Hamlin and his road to recovery I also think about everyone that had a hand in saving this man’s life as well as his occupation. The nurses and doctors make pretty good money for the jobs they do and their jobs are important! The football players make too much but I guess that could be because of us in a way. BUT the EMTs, Paramedics, Police Officers and Firefighters that handle these types of situations daily and are sometimes the first to arrive and the difference between life & death don’t get paid anywhere in the same range. Why? I have no idea. I’m sure there is some bureaucratic response that would be given but I’m still left with my Why?? It is really shameful that someone working as an attorney or construction worker, at a grocery store, department store, bank I can go on but I’ll stop there make more money than these people who are the first on scene and who I would want there to save my life! I can say all of you are appreciated BUT it’s time the world changes and they are paid the salaries they deserve. I’m not sure but I would guess the trainer for that team that helped save his life makes more than first responders because he works for the NFL! I’m so glad he had someone there to help him when he needed it! I’m not taking anything away from him or the miracle he received just made me think even more about our first responders and the mental anguish they endure while also saving lives for little to nothing in pay for the services they give us! #firstresponders #police #firefighter #emt #paramedic #makeitmakesense (at Whiteville, North Carolina) https://www.instagram.com/p/CnF_1IHuFue/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
