The "not all men but it's always a man" thing I feel has done some damage to how women understand abuse. The women in my life have treated me worse than a man ever will. Have you ever talked to a mother or a 15 year old girl? I promise they are more harmful to a young person than a creepy old guy who at least is nice. And the ladies won't even do anything about their behaviour because a lot of them think they can't possibly be abusive they can't possibly rape or kill somebody because they're women and it's always a man who does those things. Sure, let's bring awareness to the vile and horrific abuse women go through because of the actions of men! But we cannot forget that women can be awful to other women too

My male teachers have been so lovely to me #One pedophilic teacher out of the about twelve or so otherwise awesome men I've been taught by is great odds in my opinion #Half of all the female teachers I've had have been abusive; ableist; transphobic; or just straight up mean to me #and don't even open the can of worms that was my classmates for most of my life even after switching schools twice #And sure maybe this is just me but if you ask a few more people I'm sure they'll have similar experiences
