BTS - Firing the Emperor’s Kiln

This marvellous story continues to unfold. After a year’s work, the bricks have been fired and will be unloaded from the kiln in the coming weeks. Can the Ms Jin’s Imperial Kiln succeed in replicating the ancient gold bricks produced by her ancestors over many generations during Imperial times?

The Emperor's Kiln is on fire! The bricks have been loaded! There are 29 steps involved in producing a gold brick - which is why they take a year to make. The latest batch are in the oven... they'll be there for the next four months. Last week we were back in Suzhou to prepare for the next stage of our production. So here's little a funky furnace firing flick - it's all happening at the Emperor's Kiln!
