Imagine your OT3 or OT4 celebrate a mix of holidays during winter. Would they all have distinct and personal celebrations? Would they mesh them all together and celebrate all at once?
A hires a room for the night and gets a single bed. B shows up a little later, cue your typical only-one-bed tropes (established relationship or not, take your pick). But they settle down.
At midnight, C arrives. They couldn’t afford a room so can they just bunk up with A? Oops now there’s three of us we can make this work right oh god there’s no room but no one wants to sleep on the floor this hotel is really gross
Bonus for OT+: People just keep showing up needing a bed and it gets progressively more ridiculous. The cuddle pile is nice but also someone’s foot is in my ear and someone else is snoring really loudly.
Then the bed breaks and A has to awkwardly pay for the damage… whilst everyone else tries to sneak out undetected so it doesn’t look super obvious that 3+ people all slept in A’s tiny room.
It’s A’s birthday/A is having a bad day. B and C separately decide to finally get A the kitten/puppy they’ve wanted for ages.
The result: A gets TWO surprise pets and insists on keeping both. Bonus points if the pets are of different species or are unusual animals like snails, snakes etc.
The OT3+ enjoys video games - but most are for 2 players only. Cue the odd one(s) out trying to distract/seduce/sit on the players or offer distracting and unhelpful advice. Bonus points if they're playing to win something (last cookie in the jar, or the loser has to clean the kitchen) and the left out character(s) are ganging up on the gamer in the lead.
Thanks so much for over 300 followers!!
Mod wanted to take this opportunity to remind everyone that both prompt submissions and prompt requests are open for this blog. Mod also wanted to say we’re sorry for the lack of new prompts as of late. We hope to get back to making prompts shortly ^^
Soulmate Week Day 5
Person A had been born with a blank wrist, no soulmark to be found there despite it being a rarity in their world. This all changed once they met a lovely couple one day, talking and laughing and finding their company warm enough to feel like home - and when they looked at their wrist after, two new marks were there, leaving Person A breathless in wonder.
Soulmate Week Day 4
Person A had always been turned off by the idea that the tattoos on the back of their hands would determine who they’d be spending the rest of their life with, curling their noes at the thought that the universe would know better than them what they desired in a romantic relationship - who would be Best for them.
Now, many years later, they see they were wrong about soulmates. Their two best friends share the same tattoos, holding a special place in their heart no one else could fill while remaining platonic.
Soulmate Week Day 3
Person A was born legally blind, hardly able to make out the colors in their eyes even when as close to a mirror as physically possible. One eye had their eye color, the other was supposed to be the color of their soulmate’s eye - which would change whenever they met, to where each would have only their own eye color.
They’d thought it a bit strange when they were younger that their left eye, the one that was their soulmate’s eye color, had heterochromia. Two different colors split down the middle, not a solid color like their right eye contained. It wasn’t until they were old enough to think about their sexuality and their romantic life that they realized their preference for polygamy, and their excitement over having two soulmates to reflect this left them giddy over their eventual meeting.
Soulmate Week Day 2
Everyone is born with a tattoo on one of their arms, the first words (spoken, signed, or written) that their soulmate would share with them marked on their arms. Because of this it’s common practice for many to greet people with outlandish statements, something entirely out of the ordinary and unique to make it easier for their soulmate to tell when they’ve met them.
Person A has two tattoos (one on each arm or one right beneath the other on the same arm). One is a simple greeting, a “hello” or “it’s nice to meet you”. A greeting they’ve heard a few times in their life and had their heart pick up from, but so far has led nowhere for them as far as soulmate discoveries are concerned. Their other tattoo, however, is a series of letters and numbers that no amount of scratching their head has helped them figure out.
Does the code mean anything? How does Person A meet their soulmates, and do the other two in the ship know each other prior to meeting Person A?
Soulmate Week Day 1
The world is black-and-white to everyone with vision when they’re born. Only objects that their soulmate has physically touched ever has any color, and up until a week ago Person A has only known the colors black, white, and grey.
This all started to change when the door handle to a building they were entering was decidedly yellow.
(Person B brings warm colors to their eyes, and Person C brings cool colors. With both soulmates in their life, they’re able to experience the full depth of the color spectrum)
A bit sad to say this, but at least for a while there will be no new prompts. Mod is sick and trying to figure stuff out with work and doesn't have much energy to do much else at the moment.
We hope everyone is staying safe and finds something joyful to fill their spare time with, and hope to get well enough to start bringing you more prompts soon.
If Person A is Day, and Person B is Night, who represents twilight/dawn? Who is the bridge between them that holds them together? Is it just one person, or multiple, and what about them connects Persons A and B?
About this Blog
This blog is dedicated to OT3 content, specifically prompts of all different genres. It was made simply to help spread more love towards OT3 pairings, as the creators found there was little content based on poly ships. The prompts are not limited to OT3 content, however; we welcome those with OT4 and OT5 to take the prompts and use them if they can.
We wanted to take some time to outline some things to keep note of for anyone wanting to use the prompts on this blog:
We are all fandoms friendly, all ships friendly, and original content friendly
As stated above, we do not mind if the prompts are used for OT4 or OT5 or other multi-OT pairings
Anyone is welcome to use our prompts, but we want to be credited if they’re used
Mods may reblog some fics or art that use the prompts, though we won’t be able to reblog them all. If we do, we’ll be reblogging ones that have their fandom clearly stated, their ship clearly stated, and any content warnings will be tagged as well
This blog is multi-genre friendly, meaning that some horror prompts or whump prompts will be shared in the future. For this reason we will be tagging our prompts with a genre tag. The tags that will be used include but are not limited to: Fluff, horror, and whump. These are meant as genre tags and are not content warning tags
To continue on with the last point, content warning tags will be used when applicable, though graphic violence and/or sexual content will not be used in the prompts.
Submissions are welcome! We’d be happy to share any prompts anyone would like to submit to us, as long as they do not include graphic violence and any content warnings are clearly stated in the submission
Our asks are always open, but we are not always online. Feel free to send us one and we’ll get back to you when we can
We look forward to celebrating OT3 content with you all soon!
Thanks so much for 100 followers!!!
We started this blog back in late January and didn't expect to already be here, with just over 100 people following it. But since we've gotten so many new followers just recently, we thought we'd reblog our About Us post (which is also linked in our blog header).
Also, as a friendly reminder, Mods are welcome to our prompts being reblogged but not welcome to them being reposted or otherwise taken without credit (we have already caught a much bigger OT3 blog doing that, and were quick to block them).
And one more quick note: this blog and all of the prompts are also trans friendly, ace friendly, bi friendly, NB friendly, pan friendly, and friendly to all other orientations and identities that fall under the LGBTQA+ umbrella community. No matter your ship or OT3/OT4, no matter how you wish to portray them, no matter what genre you wish to write - feel welcome and free to use these prompts if you wish!
Person A has been struggling to figure out their gender identity for many years now, and have finally found an identity that best suits them. The rest of your poly ship has been supportive the entire time and are beyond happy that Person A is taking steps to best portray themselves as they feel they are.
What sort of ways do the rest of your poly ship show their support? Is it in small or big gestures? What gender has Person A found suits them best, and what does that gender mean to them?
Person A of your poly ship runs a food drive and is struggling to get volunteers to help them. How do their partners end up aiding them with this? Do they volunteer themselves or do they spread awareness to bring in others to help?
Each person in your poly ship has a different favorite genre of movie, be it horror, romcom, fantasy, action based, etc. How do they go about choosing what to watch on movie night? Do they have a rotation schedule? Do they roll a dice?
Your poly ship has been planning a vacation for the past year, but something comes up and Person A is no longer able to go with the rest. What happened to make Person A have to cancel? How do the rest of the poly ship react to the situation? Do they still go on their vacation and bring back souvenirs for Person A? Do they cancel and try again the following year?
