tired of watching school life animes that are extremely similar and just not doing it for you any more? still interested in the school life genre though? the following is a list school life anime that are stand-outs in it’s genre!
the following is a list of anime that should have chilled on the excessive ecchi because the show/plot itself was actually very good. perhaps they could have gotten a wider audience and more seasonal watchers to try their anime if only the anime tiddies weren’t so anatomically incorrect or outfits just didnt make sense:

*technically not ecchi’s but a lot of people wouldn’t try these series when they started airing because they were afraid it was going to be too ecchi/haremy. I found both these series good and actually have a lot less boobage compared to the others.

Anyway, the last poster and this image are definitely related. It seems that here the Digimon are waving to their partners who are arriving.
So the Digimon are staying in the Digital World? This is consistent with 02 so don’t jump into conclusions…

I’d like to see a series of magical girls who fully commit themselves to being mgs. Like, training often (not just relying on their companions and powers for commands), trying to figure out strategies and how to actually fight against evil. It’d be more interesting than the normal ‘im a normal teenage girl, but im also a magical girl!’
not quite 100% what anon requested, but there is an anime and visual novel called Yuuki Yuuna wa Yuusha de Aru, that has a character whos dedicated to training for magical battles, along with another who spends a lot of time strategizing, preparing and recruiting for these battles. Another reason why it’s a good watch is because it includes a physically disabled character, deals with mental and physical trauma, and the characters reactions to a lot of situations feel very real. In my opinion, it’s better then the Madoka anime for edgy magical girl series. Plus the art is super whimsical and if you’re a fan of atelier games the music/art will feel very nostalgic.

I rated Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders 10/10
When i first discovered Jojo it was about 5 years back when someone recommended me the 1993 version because I asked for a horror series. I was going to watch it but at the time I guess I just never found it and then I never looked into it. Then about 2 years ago in 2012 it was remade but I still ignored it for whatever reason. That was probably the biggest mistake of my life. (I’m also extremely curious if they were trolling me with the whole horror thing or if the 1993 one is just dark lmao.)
I ended up watching the 2012 a few months ago, where parts 1 and 2 of JJBA have been animated, Phantom Blood and Battle Tendency. I ended up watching the 26 episodes in about 3 nights because there was something addicting to the series that I couldn’t put down, but also the sense that something was missing. Then of course, part 3 was animated, Stardust Crusaders. By the time I started watching the entire part 1 of it, 26 episodes, were already aired and everyone was waiting for part 2, which is currently airing and on it’s 13th episode. I think I finished Stardust Crusaders in a little less then 2 nights because to me, an adventure/comedy fan with hints of tragedy, are practically what I live for and Stardust Crusaders is such an original and fresh new concept for me, that I absolutely loved it.
To get to the gist of it story wise for those not that big into the JoJo universe, basically all parts of JJBA have different protagonists following the Joestar bloodline, in Stardust Crusaders we have Jotaro Kujo, an japanese/american and Joeseph Joestar’s (protagonist of part 2: Battle tendency) grandson. He looks like a delinquent and has turned himself in to the police because of he believes a evil spirit is possessing him. This evil spirit is called a Stand, and is the part 3-on way of fighting in the JJBA universe. (A stand is essentially like a shadow, it shows up whenever, have its own powers, and only other stand-users can see them.)
Later it is found that a certain villain has been reborn and has awoken these Stands for all kinds of users, like Jotaro’s mother Holly. She however, does not have the strength to control it and grows very sick. The only way to save his mother, Jotaro must travel from Japan to Egypt to find the villain and kick his ass to hopefully stop the growth of his mother’s stand. He sets off with a small team of stand-users and begins their trip only to find it harder then just taking a plane.
Stardust Crusaders is the kind of show that starts off showing all the main characters being badass, mysterious, whatever and you immediately think okay this is gonna be a bunch of extra-testosteroney men walking around and fighting shit for maybe 50 or something episodes. Well you’re immediately proven wrong or at least by episode 9 because Stardust Crusaders is anything but over-serious..
My god the characters in this show can be so fucking stupid and it is so fucking funny oh my lord. If you are a big fan of characters, like if thats your number one thing when you’re looking for an anime to watch, then get to this show immediately because i’m at the point where I love every single character in this anime to death despite starting off maybe hating or just disliking them. Like to be honest I thought Polnareff was going to be my least favourite character but honestly he is probably one of my favourites now. Hell, all the characters are big babies to me now, precious big babies.
The show can sort of be episodic, with a few two-parters here and there but it still follows the storyline although can feel very filler-like. To be honest, I found each and every episode enjoyable in it’s own way, whether for character development, relationships, maybe even just comedy but it’s got this wonderful feel-goodness to it that makes it hard to wait 7 days for a new episode. Hell even an episode itself never feels long enough because I am enjoying myself so much it feels like it’s 4 minutes long.
Characters and story aside, something should be said for how god damn stylish this show can be. The manga was created in the late 80s, taking place in the 80s and heavily inspirited by classic rock among many other things, the series is bright, colourful and bold. You can start off watching an episode with Kakyoin’s hair being red/brown then suddenly in the middle of the episode you notice it’s god damn purple and it’s really cool and excessively creative with characters famously posing in unique and incredibly unrealistic ways. It’s wicked it’s just honestly wicked, and the music just adds to it.
Now I know I rated it a 10 out of 10, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t flawed. I rated it a 10 because sure it’s flawed but it doesn’t take out the enjoyment for me at all. Flaw wise you could say the episodes do feel too filler-y (there seems to be a new stand-user bad guy every episode or two, similar to sailor moon episodes), sometimes it can get ridiculously too goofy (for instance there is a stand user who is an orangutan, another a baby, a dog), the plot can feel forgotten, etc.
But, what you’re going to get is an action-filled anime, not like a typical shounen kind as JJBA uses more trickery rather then just beating up people, and it’s filled with addicting comedy, loveable characters, creative new episodic plots, a diverse adventure that feels like they’re actually traveling, and an amazing art style. I can not stress how much I am in love with this kind of series and I’d recommend it easily to adventure, shounen, even just comedy fans. If you liked FullMetal Alchemist, I’d highly recommend Stardust Crusaders because of the similar genres, if you like stylish shows like Mononoke, Stardust Crusaders, etc.
