and there is so much sand that gets coughed out of rotting chests,  opening ribs like abandoned caskets  and the elders awake and they cast out shadows to gather the sand  they lost

it’s the angels’ screams that keep you up at night, their halos burn through their skulls as they beg for mercy, but each feather that grows from their back is pulled out of your chest and for your birth, they must crumble

skies have never seen darker days than the moment stars were born and he watched and he smiled  and he made more

keep pulling at the rope, you may never know what you may find at the other end of it. before you get there, ask yourself how did it get in your hands in the first place?

it’s ripping the skin of your hands and slick with blood but you keep pulling, it’s so heavy, there’s something hanging from it - you can sense it

something glimmers beneath the surface of a frozen ocean it flickers back and forth, deeper and higher and closer to your feet - follow her

the ice cracks beneath you but you only hear the sound of her tail splashing as she screams

what did you do? oceans don’t freeze in the summer.

stars burnt through lips as screams tore through the night. yet somehow it remains day and mouths are full of ash -

sweep away your scars and bare your teeth, all that remains is the beast beneath

lick your wounds until you choke on the stardust bleeding out of your chest. when did the bones become replaced with planets?

don’t ask. don’t ask. don’t ask. thread the ribs around your skull, a crown of  burning galaxies.

see?  you don’t need an answer when you have a throne of questions.

Those swooping black birds have the answers you need. Their talons may rip it out of you, but that's the only way to get your feathers. Let them feed.

Reminder: Don’t look down. Don’t ever look down, the sky is filled with ash but the ground is flooded in blood and demons. They will choose you if you look down, don’t look down. Your days will be numbered.

all the smoke that billows out of your eyes, burning in the air around you. everyone is choking on it, coughing up black-grey clouds, falling to their feet, but you’ve never seen clearer than this moment.

suggestion: shatter your bones like glass and use the shards to carve into the ground, make lines and lines and endless lines in the dirt, and fill the space with all the stars burning out.
