Lilla slipped her hands over her leather jacket to get her apartments keys for the millionth time. In vain, she looked in her purse, still nothing. She thought to herself that she might have left them in the office.
Impossible for her to return to the company at this hour of the night to get the keys. âWhere will I stay tonight?â she wondered to herself âA hotel room maybe?!â. She headed to the nearest ATM, 500 dirham wasnât enough to afford the cheapest room in the shittiest hotel in the city.
It was a cold night of December, the rain started to pour; Lilla rushed herself to the main road hoping to find a taxi.
As she was standing there, in the dark, she noticed a good looking guy on the other side of the street. She thought to herself that the guy might come in handy.
âHeyâŠâ she yelled, the guy looked at her and went to her.
âIs everything ok? Do you need something?â nicely the guy asked.
âYes actually, do you have a phone number of a taxi? I have to go somewhere.â Lilla seemed confident about the guy, she didnât even think about the horrible stories she reads on the daily newspapers.
The guy instantly replied âItâs your lucky day miss, yes I doâ.
He whispered to her the phone number, she immediately dialed it, and in no time the taxi showed up.
She thanked the guy with a slight smile and got into the taxi, told him the address of an old friend of hers.
On the road, Lilla noticed that it wasnât the right track. She looked at the driver through the mirror. It was an old unpleasant man. Little did she know about what was coming next.
Lillaâs hands became sweaty, she was too afraid to speak a word to the man.
She thought about jumping on the sidewalk, so she smoothly moved her body towards the doorâŠ
âGod help me, God help me!â she kept repeating to herself. Unfortunately the doors were locked; Lillaâs tears flowed easily, then.
She knew then, that her life was about to take another turn, it absolutely wasnât Lillaâs lucky day.
