Person A tutors Person B in school for years, and the pair grow close. Unfortunately Person B's friends with some less than savory types and end up pushing Person A way from them by graduation. A couple years later, they meet at work, and whatever friendliness there was is now gone. Instead, the two find themselves "enemies", working in two oppose fields.
Person A and Person B are in love. Person C and Person D are also in love. The problem? Person A is engaged to Person C, and for some reason, have to marry them. The crew’s brilliant idea? Person B will marry Person D. Hijinks (and possibly some polyamory) ensue.
Person A is a paladin, devoted to their cause with their heart and soul. Person B is a warlock, bound to a pact and patron at the cost of their soul. Person A and B are forced to work together on a quest, but what will happen when B's patron is out to bring down A's deity and for either to break their vows means to lose their powers and abilities forever?
Person A and B were happily married, but after an accident, Person A goes missing for years. When they return, they find a small child answering their house door, looking up at Person A confused as they call out to their parent, summoning Person B.
Person A and B have a mission, a quest they must succeed on. If that's canon, great, if not, make one up. Regardless, they're on a quest... and Person B is a traitor. Person B, for whatever reason, has been funneling information to their enemies, and helping slow their quest down. What happens when the group is captured, and Person A finds out?
Person A is living life as normal ( whatever the definition of normal may be for them ) when one day a portal opens. The cause of it is up to you, but somehow they're sucked into it and are popped out in front of Person B, who has whatever their canon relationship with A is. Person A is very confused, but things seem alright until somehow a topic regarding A's past comes up, and B seems genuinely confused when Person A refers to it as part of their past, instead claiming it's from Person B's own history.
aka. Person A gets sucked into a portal, leading to an alternate universe where A and B have swapped backstories.
Person A and B live in a world where sometime after their eighteenth birthday, they have a dream, a special dream which runs through all the events of their soulmate’s life in the course of one night. The only problem? They can’t remember their significant other’s name. Sometimes, soulmates never meet, but with Person B, they are determined to locate A, as after the dream they realize how particularly shitty A’s life has been, as well as how much A could use them, maybe not even solely as a lover but as a friend. It takes years to locate them, years of digging into the most obscure clues from the dream, but finally, finally, B does. Only, seeing A for the first proper time, they realize with a sense of dread that Person A is already in a relationship, and in a relationship with someone of significant standing or power over Person B that it would be very risky to attempt to get in between that.
Bonus: Person C, the person with whom A is in a relationship with, is actually not a bad dude, but instead someone who lost their soulmate and genuinely cares about A.
In a world where knowing your soulmate is a very tangible thing, the method of knowing your soulmate is simple: at first touch, those involved feel a shock, followed by a flood of emotions and thoughts. And just like that, there’s a connection, ever present, a soft ebb at the back of one’s head that is like a constant reminder of their significant other’s emotions and state of mind. Occasionally, some couples master this bond enough to send messages through the link. However, it can be inconvenient to many people, and thus researchers have endeavored to figure out a way to cut that connection. Person A is, somehow, in the custody of the researcher that’s figured out how to; the perfect test subject. The researcher keeps close tabs on them, waiting for them to connect with their significant other in order to immediately sever it. Person A, thus, is absolutely terrified of finding their soulmate because they don’t want it ripped away. Person B, a guard at the facility where the researcher works, notes this, and over time slowly grows close to Person A, offering to help them escape. It takes a little while, with the pair growing close, but during the escape, Person B grab’s A’s hand for the first time, and they’re both frozen for a moment - a moment that allows them to realize their soulmate was right there the whole time, and a moment that allows the other guards to properly surround them.
Once upon a time, there was a fairy and a human. The human was the victim of unfortunate circumstances - their mother had died when they were young and when their father remarried, their stepmother and step-siblings were unnaturally horrid to them. The new additions to the family despised them, and when their father later passed from the same illness which took their mother, the human was relegated to the position of a housemaid, left to sleep among the ashes in the kitchen.
Yet, through all this, a bright spot remained. For they had a friend in a fairy.
The fairy was young, a little naive to the ways of humans, but a dedicated friend to the human. Through thick and thin, they remained by the side of their companion. And when one day the king announced a ball for all the eligible young people in the kingdom would take place, in an effort to find the young royal a spouse, the human was eager to participate, seeing it as a chance for a night of freedom.
The fairy, of course, granted their friend’s wish, working a little more magic than strictly was allowed to give them proper clothes and transportation to the event. And the human went to the ball with all the grandeur and beauty available. The royal, whom the ball was for, could not take their eyes off the new arrival, and danced the evening away with them,
And through it all, the fairy watched from the sidelines, heart breaking as they realized that that feeling they had whenever they saw the human was not just appreciation for their relationship and company, but in truth, love.
Once upon a time, a king and a queen forgot to invite a powerful fairy to the christening of their child. It was a terrible mistake. The child grew into a remarkable young royal, a perfect candidate to become the future monarch. At their side through it all was a faithful guard, one of their peers, who from a young age had been trained and taught to keep watch over them, to protect them and keep them safe. Yet on the child's eighteenth birthday, they fell victim to the curse the fairy had placed on them all those years ago, collapsing into a deep sleep. Their guard had been outside the walls when it happened, however, and was separated from them by a wall of tangling thorns and roses. Horror set in, but the guard was determined. They sought out the royal to which their charge had been engaged, and brought them back, hacking a path through the brush to the tower where the royal lay. The fiancé, upon approaching the sleeping royal carefully leaned down and kissed them, yet nothing happened, and so they turned and started to leave. The guard, disappointed, pressed a small kiss to the royal's forehead, promising them that they would bring all the princes and princesses of the world to see if any would wake the sleeping royal up. But then the royal's eyes slowly fluttered open, and they found themselves looking at their one true love - the guard.
Person A is an android. Mechanical in every way, they’re lent to Person B, a slightly depressed widow(er), by a corporation who wishes for their help in testing out A’s capabilities. When A arrives, B is unimpressed, not wanting much to do with the machine. Yet A doesn’t act like a machine. They have likes and dislikes and they frequently suffer from dreams of what can only seem like a past life where they were together with Person B. B finds it repelling at first, convinced it was a cruel joke of some sort by the organization, yet as time goes on, they find A seeming more and more familiar.
Then one day, they get a call from Person A while they’re out, asking them to come home immediately and informing B that they have found something out. The line cuts out unexpectedly, however, and Person B rushes back home to find the corporation has reclaimed Person A, citing technical issues, and promising to let B test out the next model.
Person B’s gut instinct is to not trust it, and after investigating the matter further, they break into the corporation’s offices to try to find Person A. They manage to, but in the process of trying to ‘wake’ A, they stumble onto some data files about a project.
This project specialized in porting a human consciousness over to an android, and B watches, horrified, their ‘dead’ spouse being subjected to said procedure, confined to the mechanical body of Person A.
In this world, warlocks, who have to make a deal with an entity to gain power, are often considered taboo. They’re dangerous being who have made dangerous deals to become stronger. Naturally, Person A distrusts them. However, imagine A’s despair when Person A, a knight, is assigned Person B, a warlock, to assist them in their journey to rescue a kidnapped noble. While rocky at first, along the journey the pair become closer and closer, and upon the end, after A rescues a royal and is promptly offered up a marriage as a reward, A has to contemplate what exactly they really want.
Person A is an android. They are, quite possibly, the most advanced, most intricate android to date. For in this futuristic society, they appear to have something that no other android has yet had: emotions. Person B is the government agent assigned to evaluate Person A and A's capabilities, as well as if A is a threat that must be neutralized.
Person A and Person B are both single parents. They started dating slowly, not quite sure what their teenaged children would think or how they would react to it. However there's something between A and B and slowly turns into fast all too quickly, and one afternoon while the kids are supposed to be out, they're making out on the couch. Cue the children entering to pick up something they left behind or because it was cancelled. Bonus 1: "I knew it. Ha. Your kid owes me ten bucks now." Bonus 2: "I am completely for your happiness but please never kiss like that in front of me again."
Person A and B were in a happy relationship. Everything was perfect. And then A got hurt, nearly died, and came home in a wheelchair. B is just happy that A is alive, but A can't help but see the future that looked so bright is suddenly so dim. But Person B is there to help. It's the little things that make it better. The trade in of their vehicle for one that can transport the wheelchair. The ramp added to their front steps. The carefully adjusted table height. B does everything they can to help A, and honestly, while that's all fantastic, its B just being B helps pull A out of despair the most.
Person A is a bartender. They enjoy working at the bar, serving beverages and talking to the customers. The bar in question being a decent location, most of the patrons are okay people. Maybe not people A would be best friends with, but okay people. One day, they meet Person B. B starts out with one drink, then two, then another and another. After cutting B off - much to their despair - A begins to talk with them. The conversation is so nice, that B comes in the next day. And the next. And so forth, until both A and B can’t imagine life without those visits.
Will either take the step to take it a little further than evening chats?
