“‘Incubate the eggs’ they said. ‘It’ll be fine’ they said. Well look at me now!”
Adam stared at the mirror in the bathroom, taking in the sight of his swollen middle and the subsequent stretch marks that came with it. They didn’t bother giving him clothes nowadays as he was always too big for them. It had all happened a little too fast, but he sure remembered every part of it.
The eggs being pushed into him, slowly but forcefully by the research team. The following exams to make sure all eggs were viable and doing okay. And then the moment the researchers told him something went wrong with the incubation process.
Originally, he was supposed to carry a clutch of 6 eggs, which would all be about the size of a grapefruit when ready to birth. He would carry them to term and they would hatch inside of him, leading to several slithery snakes making their way out of his body by pure instinct.
Instead, they insert all 6 eggs into him, and they, somehow, morphed into one larger egg. He still doesn’t understand how that can happen, and they’ve tried to explain it to him several times but he’s given up on trying to comprehend the science of it all. Something about the wrong kind of serum used, introducing hyper-growth instead of fertilization.
