by the way, since ive seen it a couple times "antisocial" is a personality disorder, it doesnt mean "doesnt talk to people" (and to clear it up before it starts, narcissistic does not mean "self centered asshole" its also a personality disorder and any disrespect to anyone with any disorder will not be tolerated)

Kinda freaking out a little because I don't feel anything about the idea of losing some friendships I've had for 5 years ???

I never considered being aplatonic because I always felt a strong connection with my friend group. Sometimes. Sometimes I feel entirely apathetic. I don't know what to do.

Sometimes I feel really happy being aplatonic when I find out people I talk to a lot turn out to be abusers so I've just dodged a bullet by being friendship indifferent. Wow good thing we never were friends! Phew

Not sure if this is an aplatonic thing but like, I enjoy making new "friends" but as soon as I actually get to know the person on a deeper level I just, lose all interest in them (so far with the exception of of exactly one person), even of we're like extremely compatible.

I honestly don't know what friendship is supposed to be if NOT a series of transactions. I make you feel good via listening and complimenting, with the expectation that you will reciprocate by making me feel good via listening and complimenting.

Being Aplatonic means watching Dangonronpa 2 gameplay and wondering how the fuck they consider each other friends when they 1. Just met and 2. Spent like an hour together at most and don't even know anything about each other outside of one being a pervert and a other being a snob

I know this probably isn't really what this blog is for, but I'm wondering if you could help with this, or maybe the people who interact with your posts will see it and have something to say. I'm questioning aplatonicism and exploring my feelings about friendship right now, and I recently made a post where I shared a document about my experiences. Been questioning recently if I might be aplatonic, I do like having friends but I just don't *feel* like it, I never EVER see someone and think "oh i wanna be friends!" And the few friends I do have, its like... this is nice but I feel like I wouldn't change my feelings on them if we stopped being friends. Idk.

Is it possible to be like gray-aplatonic or smth? Or like... demi-platonic... idk. Might be that, but knowing me I'll probably realise im full apl later on... what the heck is going on 🫩

I very, very rarely get a friend crush, but when I do I usually just distance myself from that person, because it makes me feel horrible. I just can't deal with it emotionally. It gives me an incredible amount of tesion, that I am unable to resolve. With romantic crushes I usually just tell the person or voice my desire for physical closeness and that closeness relieves the emotional tension. With a friend crush there is no such relieve. I just feel horrible, especially after interacting with the person, I feel like everything I said and did in that interaction was the worst. I am extremely self conscious about the prospect of seeing them again and I literrally feel like I wanne peel my own skin off (I don't actually, but the desire is there).

I just don't want that kind of emotional stress in my life.

ive been questioning if im some flavor of (friendship favorable) aplatonic or not for a bit now, and during a convo with a previously close friend they asked if i "felt the connection" between us cuz recently we had an argument and i just couldnt bring myself to say a simple yes or no since my feelings were more complex so i replied honestly about how i felt about it and the possibility of me being aplat. they then started talking about how hurt they felt since "it implies we're on different 'levels'" and that i had "less devotion to the friendship" which kind of really stung because like... me potentially being aplat doesnt erase the amazing relationship we'd had this whole time?? its not going to suddenly change how i act??

its just skxndnsnkskdjfjdhdh i wish we could talk about our feelings without being instantly told we're hurting others by, idk, existing i guess

I guess it's a humbling experience to have previously thought my aplatonicism may have been solved by being on the right medication, but now being on the right medication i am more sure of my aplatonicism than ever, more comfortable than ever and more at peace with it. I am looking forward to my safe, sane, aroace aplatonic nonamorous life ^_^
