“I don’t suppose you got anything more specific from these things, right?” Not that she should be surprised. If it’s not a con, and for whatever reason  she doesn’t think that it is, then vague non-answers are about par for the course on her attempts to find her family. “I mean this,” she pointed to the World. “This card could represent anybody in this chair asking about their birth parents. Pretty sure all adopted kids feel like that." 

She pointed to the Chariot. "If you’re even a little bit psychic then you know why a future filled with aggression isn’t exactly a surprise.”

“And I’m not sure how a ’future filled with aggression’ is supposed to lead to this life of sunshine and rainbows.”

Of course the most skeptical of people would pick faults in what she done, it was only to be expected - there were too many frauds in this world. She began collecting the cards, giving a slight smile. “The vagueness of the reading is to protect the future,” she glanced up towards Hayley, tilting her head to the side. “If people knew everything about their future, people would start trying to change in a way that benefits them...But that change could effect someone else.“

“And your attitude leaves little to be desired.” Callie finally pulled away, cleaning up her tools. She shook her head as she heard the other spoke. “Retaliating will only cause more problems.”

“Do forgive me, I have been rude.” She bowed a little, raising swiftly to a stand as she looked towards the man before her. “You may call me Elisabeth Schwartz, but he would have known me better as Jeanne D’Arc.”

“Don’t touch me.” It was almost a snarl and the handsome facade started to fade from his face.             “You speak so assuredly about your position. As if you actually know. Do you really know, Lilith? Do you truthfully know the truth? Or are you still always being the little pawn for everyone else to move around?”

“You think you scare me with your little temper tantrum? You’re nothing but a child who cannot get his way, who is rebelling cause grandma told him no.” She stood to her full height as she allowed her faux appearance disappear, brushing red curls over her shoulder. Blue eyes settled upon him as the slowly shifted into a reddish hue, a blast of enerngy flew towards him with the flick of her wrist, intending to cause him unimaginable pain. “I am no one’s pawn,especially in the game that is being played.”

He was so much like her, she could see it even if he wouldn’t admit it. He was her grandson, he was of her blood, and there was nothing he could do to avoid that truth. “Maybe I am, but being jaded isn’t always a bad thing.”

Sometimes she hated dealing with people, especially when they had nothing better to do than moan. She yanked sharply, keeping the other close as she secured the bandaging tightly. “There.”

Hayley was more than somewhat skeptical of the process, but honestly she’d tried nearly everything else to find her birth family; why not this?    She tried to pick her cards carefully from the deck, choosing    the ones that seemed to call to her rather than just three at    random, sliding them from the rest of the cards laid out on    the table.                "Okay. Now what?“

Each card had a meaning, each had a purpose in this reading. The young woman before he had come in search for her family, or at least some kind of answer as to where to find them. “Now I read them,” She turned over the first, gauging the result. “The first card is you at present, the World. The way it’s positioned, in the reserved formation, means that you feel a lack of completion. You probably feel alone, questioning yourself more than anything; who are you, what purpose does your life have? Why did they leave you?” Alice turned over the next card; the Chariot in a reverse state.  “This card is your near future. In this state it symbolizes a few  different things; a lack of direction, but it also warns of a potentional future filled with aggression.” She smiled as she revealed the last card. “This one is the far future, and I see happiness in your future Hayley. In connection with your question this could mean a bright outcome in the search of your family.”
