But instead of just reading about the risks of incomprehensible AI and machine learning controlling us, it's time to do something about it. Hololens augmented reality fashion

June 2017 / Fashion Week Amsterdam 

Thanks to Hololens augmented reality the visitors of the Amsterdam Fashion Week were able to experience an experimental fashion concept by Ensemble de Solution in a hands-on way. With the #Haphazardme app they could create a virtual outfit for each other consisting of digitized pieces of left-over garments. 

As explained in the video above, by exporting the data from the Hololens the creation could be created using those selected pieces of fabric which are numbered and stored in the studio. A unique creation because of the personal touch and the fact that these left-over pieces are very diverse one-offs.

Do you think you're being stalked? You're probably right. In our present day world consisting of both a physical universe and a virtual realm there's more than meets the eye. There's one thing to do: find out, and stalk your stalker. Use this app to spot your stalker hiding behind a tree or just standing around the corner.

The app uses two augmented reality effects which are specifically useful to create AR in outdoor situations. The real world as an environment which is way to big to scan or 3D model in a traditional way. But thanks to instant scanning any surface can become the trigger for an AR appearance and using “occlusion” it’s possible to hide virtual items behind physical objects that are in the way.

Cyborg Dating

Playful VR project by SNDRV requires a couple taking a walk, one with a Google Cardboard headset and the other with GPS instructions on their smartphone (you will even see brucesterling trying it out) - video embedded below:

Visitors of the Impakt Festival could go on a “Cyborg Date”. They could take a walk through a virtual forest which was situated at GPS-coordinates in the city centre of Utrecht. Navigating was a joint effort. The person wearing the Google Cardboard could see where to go, but the person guiding could see how to go there, avoiding obstacles, people and bicycles. On the way, they both were informed about the progress of the ‘date’. They were given suggestions on what to say, and at certain interactive spots buttons appeared. A rose could be given to the human guide. The contents of a picnic basket could be shared. And at one point en route, the forest could be switched to nighttime, to subtly nudge the date towards a romantic ending.
