Batman and Harley Quinn

So I’ve never been the biggest Harley Quinn fan. Shes just never been a character that I’ve been drawn towards. Nothing against the character. It is what it is. In fact, I didn’t have all that much anticipation for this movie and was actually surprised when I found out it is released.

But with that being how it is I actually enjoyed this movie, especially with Harley being in a lead role. She definitely added a bit of fun into this movie and a perfect example is a little musical number that happens during the film, which really could have only happened because of this another hilarious scene. Even from the opening sequence, you can tell the tone of the movie by the Animation and the character interaction. Batman, Nightwing, and Harley make a pretty good trio and I’d be happy to see them again.

Something that I consider a downside is a voice acting is not so much who they have provided the voices but who they don’t. Right from the moment you hear her voice you realize that it’s not Tara Strong playing Harley but Melissa Rauch instead. Nothing against Melissa Rauch but when you think of BTAS Harley you think of Tara Strong. It would’ve been nice if they got her back but it works.

Overall I enjoyed this movie. I would’ve like to see some more characters from that universe but I honestly can’t complain. Well, I can if there isn’t a sequel.

Fantastic Four (2005)

Let it be said that this movie didnt at least try. Or at least they really tried to try. Its a serviceable movie but I wouldnt call it great. Im actually having a hard enough time calling it good. While I do like the casting, especially Von Doom, the cliche mid 2000 dialogue ruined some of the actual chemistry the actors were trying to form in scenes and the weird editing/order scenes played out didnt really help.

With the F.F. being Marvels First Family its not hard imagining them as more of the family friendly of the super heroes movies, however it seems they leaned to hard on that and it more or less came away as campy. And coming off the back of Daredevil(2003) this was exactly unexpected but it seemed to have work enough to warrent a sequel 2 years later.

Score: 5/10

Joker Origin Movie.

Why? Now comic book characters have had there origins changed before, that's nothing new. Some changes have been drastic while some changes minor. Some have been necessary to bring the character back while some have just been stupid. This can be slightly in the middle of that. As in it would be nice to see a Joker origin story but is it necessary? Everyone already knows who the Joker is and while a live action version would be cool to see, I feel like DC should be focusing on something else. Like there own cinematic universe. Maybe get what they already have on track before adding another train to the rails? Or not. This Joker Origin movie seems to be apart of a separate universe aside from the DC movie universe. What I feel like is that DC has stories to tell but don't necessarily fit in to what they have so they're not even going to try to do that. Create two separate universes so that if one fails they can just focus on the other. Or they could have The J.O.M as a anthology film set sometime in The DCEU but doesn't have a major impact on the main storyline? If they go through with all this then only time will tell.

Stranger Things Season 2 Comic Con Trailer Review

I got to say I really like this trailer. I got into Stranger Things a bit after it already came out on Netflix so I somewhat missed the hype of it. But believe me when I finally saw it and that last episode finished I was right up there with wanting to see the next season as soon as possible and this trailer is making the wait even more worth it. You wouldn’t believe how into this I was, especially when I started hearing Vincent Price from the intro to Thriller start playing. I swear October couldn’t some any sooner.

War For The Planet Of The Apes

Now Lord Of The Rings may be Oscar-winning movies but I have never been more satisfied with a trilogy like I have been with the Planet Of The Ape movies. Since the first one, Rise of the Planet Of The Apes I was into what they were doing and the story they were trying to tell through the eyes of Caeser.

The Good: In every incarnation of Planet of the Apes that I know of so far, the Apes were always depicted as the bad guys but here we truly get to see both sides of this war and you can understand how each side was led to this moment. Both sides have their own reason to fear the other and it’s hard to pick which is truly justified. Now with this being a war, there are of course multiple conflicts but it’s not just the physical fights that get to you but also the emotional ones as well. There were two key scenes in this movie where I actually felt tears coming to my eyes. But never once could I look away. And most of It I give credit to Andy Serkis and his performance of Caeser, even from the first movie to this one he has been nothing short of amazing and it’s a shame he doesn’t have any nominations under his belt. I really did like Woody Harrelson's performance especially seeing how he was the only human worth even caring about. No offensive to that little girl but…she was just kinda there. The App characters were amazing and Both of the emotional scenes I mentioned earlier involved them. Just really good things all around.

The Bad: If I had to not pick I’d say some of the Apes were a bit much. Like some Apes are working for the humans and their reason behind it sucks. I mean it makes sense during the movie but it still just really makes you shake your head. But you can’t really hate them because you understand where they are coming from.

Overall: There is nothing really blatantly out of place or wrong with this movie. It’s just all around a fantastic movie and a must see. I mean Apes on Horses people. Need I say more?

Stranger Things Synopsis

“It’s 1984 and the citizens of Hawkins, Indiana are still reeling from the horrors of the Demagorgan and the secrets of Hawkins Lab. Will Byers has been rescued from the Upside Down but a bigger, sinister entity still threatens those survived" So Will been rescued from the Upside Down but it seems that he isn’t the only thing that made it through. Some doors shouldn’t be opened and from what we’ve seen from the Demagorgan it is going to be a very difficult monstrosity to close back in. Stranger Things Season 2 premieres on Netflix October 27, 2017

Spider-Man Homecoming!!!!!

Man-o-man-o-man! The web-crawler is as friendly as ever ladies and gentlemen and boy do I wish he lived my neighborhood. I’m here to tell you the good, the bad and my overall impressions of the web-crawler himself.

The Good: can I just say “the entire movie”? No, I don’t think that’s fair, I think the good people need to know just how good. So let’s start off with Tom Holland and his performance. I feel like he did Peter Parker Justice. If your looking for the awkward, nerdy 15-year-old Peter Parker then Tom Holland definitely delivers. He along with the other cast make it a believable high school experience which is refreshing because I feel like that was something lacking in the other Spider-Man movies. A high school aged Peter Parker that was actually doing high school things. The supporting cast just brings so much on there own that you never just the feeling of why are they even there *cough* Transformers *cough*. Whether it’s Ned with his funny one-liners, Aunt May whose just amazing to look at or Michelle who always seems like she doesn’t want to be there but you are always glad that she is. Now we get to the villains. Micheal Keaton as the Vulture was great. Now they were talking about having the Vulture in the Spider-Man movies for a while and I’m glad that they finally put him in. He is actually one of the best Marvel villains since Loki just because he’s not some evil megalomaniac that wants to destroy everything. He has a purpose and a goal and it makes sense why he does what he does. And his crew isn’t that bad either. Though I don’t know why they needed two shockers. But I'm not complaining at all. Compared to how Sam Raimi's Spider-Man handled introduced multiple villains as with the Amazing Spider-Man you have to give them credit. They had brief moments with Aaron Davis A.K.A the Prowler and Scorpion which really didn’t seem forced. Well executed on every turn.

The Bad: Of course no movie is perfect, even one as darn good as this one. One of the things that bother me the most and you notice it throughout the entire movie: no Uncle Ben. Now I know that when production for this movie started they were going on about how even though this is a new Spider-Man there wouldn’t be an origin story. It would already start off with him as Spider-Man. But in every version that I know, their uncle Ben (or a variation of him) has always been the motivation for Peter to even become Spider-Man. There was no picture or even a name drop. It just didn’t sit right with me.

Another thing that may not be the most popular opinion was I wasn’t the biggest fan of the Spider-Man Suit. Not so much the design, I really did like it. But it was more of all the technology within the suit. I always remember Peter having a homemade suit and having to stitch it up after almost every fight and the problems that came with it. It was more of a Tony Stark suit more than it was a Peter Parker suit which is why when I got to see his original suit in action it was a bit satisfying. They also did the Agents Of Shield season 1 thing where they would name drop an Avenger almost every ten minutes, but with Tony Stark cameos it’s to be expected. Overall: I adore this movie and am really glad that Sony and Marvel could work together on this movie and made something that makes people excited for Spider-Man again. Maybe Spider-Man won’t be the only movie property with a deal like this, who knows. It’s just so great to see Spider-Man finally come home.

Baby Driver Review

The Good- First thing I’m going to start off with and possibly the best thing about the movie: the music. It gets you right from the start with a soundtrack that fits so well into each scene it played in and elevates every moment. Other than in G.O.T.G have I seen or heard such good use of a soundtrack. But the soundtrack was the only good thing this movie is just genuinely fun from beginning to end. Well paced, never a dull moment and that is largely credited to how good of a director Edgar right truly is. The way he shoots a scene and uses the character in this movie never has you experiencing a dull moment. and let's not forget to give kudos to the cast as well who you can tell had as fun playing these roles as I did watch play these roles. Just a really good time all around.

The Bad- Now no movie is perfect and there’s probably going to be a flaw or two, but when it comes to Baby Driver there’s really not all too much of a downside. I mean unless going scene by scene and nick pick I really don’t have that many negative things to say about it. I really Just enjoyed this film.

Overall Score-  would have to give this movie a 9.5/10. its definitely a must watch and once you do it will be hard to resist seeing it again. I know I definitely will.
