So apparently I can't update my old one of these posts anymore; I didn't know there was an age cutoff when editing would no longer work! ANYWAY: this is just the same again so that I can continue keeping it updated!
I'm also trialling the practice of adding to the list partners' muses for the owed threads, which should hopefully make it easier to tell what's for who! Between what's in my drafts and queue, everything I owe should be covered; but if you think I'm missing something then you're welcome to ask and check ^^

Sending myself a thingie for the outfit drawing meme, because a) I want to and b) I don't think anyone else is gonna send me one for these girls...
Angry in B1 and Red in B7, context being a hypothetical modern 'verse for the girls!
outfit meme [soft edition] (Still accepting!)
I just love these two, okay...? xD
(also tagging @starsweepers again because THE GIRLS! ^^)
This is also just a casual reminder that I'm still accepting things for this meme! As I said, my writing muse is taking an extended vacation at present but my drawing muse is keeping at it; so I'll happily draw some more of these to keep things active over here :D Doesn't have to be just my muses, either; as long as I know the character in question, I'm happy to take a shot at drawing them ^^
Are you still taking suggestions for the clothes meme?
If so, can you please draw Lilo wearing outfit B9 and a name sticker?
Thanks!
outfit meme [soft edition] (Still accepting!)
Absolutely still taking suggestions! Thanks for sending this :D
Had a little trouble figuring out proportions between her head and body, and still am not entirely convinced... I guess she's more like her age from Leroy & Stitch here, where she's a little taller than in the classic movie!
First of all, I am aware I've got a bunch of people waiting on me, and I'm sorry that I'm (once again!) holding everything up.
Second, no I didn't fall into the void and disappear, I absolutely am here...
BUT I dunno, my writing muse had just kinda poofed. Not even just for here, for anywhere really. I have creative muse, don't get me wrong; but absolutely aaaaaaaaaall of it is for drawing at present, when it comes to writing I've really got nothing going on.
This is... as you can guess, not great for running an RP blog...!
I... don't want to force the muse, you know? And I'm honestly happy to be making progress on drawing things, which are more what I'm trying to make something out of at present, rather than writing which is really just a hobby right now; so I don't want to misstep and stop that muse in order to revive the writing one. It just leaves me in an odd place with a blog like this.
I think because of that I'm gonna keep on taking a break from here until writing muse kinda hits me again? Once again, I'm so sorry to everyone who's waiting on me, I feel really awkward about this; but I figured I should at least let you all know what's up rather than just keeping on being vanished with no explanation.
Thank you once again for your patience with me; it truly means a lot!
(Um, and if anyone wants to keep up on what I'm doing drawing-wise, since I mentioned it, you're welcome to check out my DeviantArt account if you'd like, which is where I post most of my art stuff...! No pressure though of course ^^)
While Judo was strong in sheer size in comparison to the dainty-looking Annette, she was clearly at a disadvantage when it came to swimming. Even in shallow puddles like this, it was tricky for Judo to maneuver through, and it would take a while to clean her fur.
Nevertheless, the young Chow-Chow made a choice and stuck to it.
With a determined look, the lion-like pup did her best to keep the Cocker Spaniel in a strong hold, one paw gripping one arm like a vice, and the other helping her wade in the water. Kicking her back feet, she brought herself closer to meet Danielle halfway.
"D-Danielle, hurry!" She shouted desperately over Annette to the younger sister. "She's getting slippery!"
Judo was determined, Annette would certainly give her that; even without the benefit of dry ground beneath her feet to get a grip on, the chow-chow knew how to hang on despite Annette's twisting and spiralling around in the water trying to shake her.
While she didn't stop making her best attempts to get her arm back, the spaniel pondered an approach to the situation. Unlike Danielle, with whom Annette knew exactly how rough she could be if it came down to it, Judo was an unknown quantity in that regard; and until she had a feel for that, the older girl didn't want to risk fighting back too hard and hurting her friend. She was playing it by long fluffy ear right now.
Speaking of Danielle, though: if Annette knew the younger spaniel at all, she would be charging back again any moment now and Annette deliberately kicked waves in Dani's general direction to try and slow her down.
A futile effort: moments later a small but solid form thudded into her stomach at top swimming speed, knocking the wind out of Annette's lungs. The smaller spaniel seemed equally disoriented by the collision for a moment, but recovered swiftly enough to latch herself onto a free limb; and Annette abruptly found that having a younger girl on each arm made swimming a lot harder. Kicking her legs was, at least, keeping her mostly afloat, but she was suddenly at a severe disadvantage.
Danielle, wrapped around Annette's left arm, grinned out from beneath her soaked baseball cap at Judo. It wasn't often she was able to get an advantage over her big sister, and Dani was relishing it.
"We've got her!"
She paused, expression shifting into one of puzzlement. She hadn't thought this far ahead, after all.
She asked looking at the little doll nailed to the wall of the room, giving a strange vibe.. maybe that kid was more a 5 anyway..
Her face turned into a slighty proud smirk as Webby asked the question about her home. "Oh, originally from Juniper City, you know, one of the biggest cities in all of China.. Most recently though, Valley of Peace. Totally settling in with my new roommates in the.... Jade Palace"
She couldn't help but brag a little, only stopping before mentioning her training to be the next Dragon Warrior.
"Also that would be like, the first time I hear of a rich guy giving something back.. let alone after putting it into his fortress." She huffed, added onto the girl's comment about asking Scrooge directly... Money bin on a whole seperate Island, sounded like someone who really wanted to hold on to their valuables.
"Ohhhh, China. Neat! I've been to Macaw before, you know, with the family. But never Juniper City."
Nor the Jade Palace... why did that sound familiar? While Webby was a girl with an absolutely fantastic memory for facts about things that she found interesting - most especially history, and also practical survival skills - not even she could retain everything at all times, and it took her a moment to catch on.
When she did, her eyes widened.
"WAIT! The Jade Palace, as in, the home of Kung Fu? I remember reading about it..."
She punched the air in front of her, enthusiasm visibly rising.
"I'd love to someday go there and take on some of its training courses, I've heard they're supposed to be extremely deadly..."
Should she sound so excited about that? Maybe not... but Webby had been trained by Granny to be ready for anything, and had an itch to really prove herself. Taking on the world's most deadly training course sounded less intimidating and more like a good challenge to a duckling who had plenty of combat skills but still only a fraction of experience to match.
Back on the subject, though...
The girl deflated a bit as Zhen raised her objection, and Webby couldn't say that she was exactly wrong. It took extraordinary circumstances indeed for Scrooge to give up any of his hard-earned treasure, but all the same...
"Well, yeah, but. While I'd love to help you find it, I can't exactly agree to help break through all of my honorary uncle's security systems?"
She shuffled her webbed feet, eyes darting around the room as her mind spun to try and find a solution.
"I mean, maybe Scrooge hasn't taken it to the Money Bin yet?"
She wouldn't count on it; but all the same, Scrooge did have a whole garage full of old mementos of his adventures, so it wasn't like he was always organised in immediately packing everything away into the Bin. And it would certainly make for a much easier solution...
"You said you saw him bring it in here, right? If it's still in the mansion, I can scout out for it, if you just wait in here..."
Leaving a stranger alone in her bedroom, Webby knew, was probably not the smartest suggestion she could make... but it was smarter than letting said stranger wander the mansion with her, at any rate, where anyone - from one of the other kids all the way up to the literal ghost butler - could intercept them with awkward questions.
Unlike Dani, Judo figured it would be a given to help Anne with her sister, both in wanting to play while making a good impression on the older girls. Then again, Judo had been getting better at getting along with younger kids like Bingo and Pom Pom, and Bluey, of course, being the same age as her, was her best friend!
Gaze shifted between Dani and Annette for a millisecond, until she ultimately made her decision. Thinking quickly, she barrelled into Annette's side, allowing Danielle to escape. She might've lost Annette's budding respect, regretfully, but at least they got to play even longer.
Judo's collision with Annette was, indeed, enough to loosen the older girl's grip; and Danielle took full advantage of that to squirm her way to freedom. She barely had time to gloat, however, before she splashed straight back down into the water; and, as her mouth has unwisely still been open, she emerged coughing and spluttering a few moments later.
She was, however, not in the least deterred.
"Keep hold of her, Judo! I'm coming back to help!"
So that was how the younger girls wanted to play it...?
An actual smirk crossed the normally dignified Annette's face as she re-evaluated her situation. Honestly she wasn't all that surprised that Judo had taken Dani's side; they were close to the same age, after all. And while she kept a careful lid on it these days, Annette had possessed a bit of a rough-and-tumble side herself when she had been younger, one that hadn't quite ever left her and - as long as they were all in the water anyway - was all too eager to take on the challenge of two vs. one.
They might have the advantage of numbers, but she was the one with strategy.
"Easier said than done..." she warned with a teasing tone.
Even as she spoke, she twisted as gracefully as she could (that was, much more gracefully than Danielle, though still not as much so as she might have preferred) through the water, in a way that was intended to make it hard for either of them to get a hold on her. Annette hardly counted herself as an expert swimmer, granted, but as a cocker spaniel she still had her breed's natural affinity for water.
”hmm…” Tina pondered, holding her small bag of buttered popcorn and small Sprite, but imaging how the seating arrangement’s gonna be “well, I’d say further back, it shows the whole screen better than the front and the middle” she stated that it’s better to watch the screen better and away from the projector spot
Even if she was momentarily disappointed, Margo didn't show it. Sure, it would have been nice to feel really deeply immersed in the movie by being up as close as possible... but Tina had a good point too. Either way, it wasn't going to ruin the experience for her.
"Further back it is," the bespectacled brunette agreed with a nod, starting up the steps that led to the more distant seats, being careful not to trip in the semi-darkness.
About two-thirds of the way back, she paused by a likely-looking row. A good view, without being right-right at the back; using the back of her hand to push her glasses further up her nose, Margo looked to her friend.
"How about here? This looks like a good spot to me."
Steven just begins taking a deep breath in and out before squeezing her hand back gently "I-im sorry I ..I just think of it from my perspective..... A hybrid perspective.....of how scientists would see me .." he blushes embarrassed before hugging her gently
"No, I get it. I'm just... surprised, I guess. I've known you all this time, and I never realised before how much this worried you..."
Did that make her a lousy friend? Connie hoped not; but that would be something to address later, when Steven felt better, and not right now. It was entirely possible, after all, that this was a new thing, the sickness sending his thoughts down paths he wouldn't have otherwise thought of...
But it was equally possible that he'd been concerned about this for years and she'd just failed to pick up on it.
Not the thought for the moment, though. Instead, Connie leant into Steven's hug, running a hand through his hair gently. Never mind that she could catch whatever he had by doing this; she'd cross that bridge, too, when she came to it. For now, her boy's needs were more important than her own.
"You already live in a world of sentient Gems, isn't that cool enough? "
Spinel jokingly scoffed, hands on her hips, with an exaggerated roll of her eyes. That lasted about five seconds before she chuckled. The joke was a welcome change of topic. She didn't want to think about trying to find Vanellope's alternate self any longer.
She followed closely behind, making sure to not lose sight of Vanellope. "No need to rush. The store isn't closing for another few hours," She reminded the girl.
"Well, I mean, yeah it is? But you can never have too much cool stuff, obviously."
Or at least, that was her particular way of thinking. If something was cool, she'd never say that it wasn't enough; but also, you could never go wrong with adding more cool on top of the cool that you already had. Coolness was cumulative like that.
Spinel's laughter got the girl laughing too. Shaking her head a little at the turn the conversation had taken - though hey, sentient candy was far from the weirdest thing she'd thought about today - she kept on heading in the right direction.
"I know, I know. But I don't know about you, but all this thinking about candy's got me hungry. Sooner we get there, sooner we can both stuff our faces with th' stuff, am I right?"
They were almost there now, in fact. Just around the corner and they'd be on the boardwalk, and the candy shop was just a little further down.
Zhen would find herself momentarily blinded once all the lights turned on around her, The shock was immediatly followed by another as the rope holding her up was cut, giving her just enough time to unfurl the rope arond her enough to catch the fall with her hands.
Rubbing her eyes briefly as she got stood up she looked at Webby. "Okay, seriously, whats up with the lights? Is this some special torches or magic going on here.
She'd get a betetr view of the room as a whole and almost nothing looked like back home, neither Juniper City or the Jade Palace, the bed certainly looked a lot more comfy than the straw mats or Bamboo leaves she was accustomed to.
She'd get snapped out of looking when Webby asked about the staff. Zhen was unsure if she should mention its magical properties.
"Oh yeah, the Staff, yeah i'd say it's really old, at least I think so.. Po said he got it from his old master and since that guy must've been older than Shifu.. Made form Jade and the top resembles Yin and Yang."
"What do you mean? They're just clap-on-clap-off lights..."
Actually...
She was starting to piece things together. Webby had, admittedly, been assuming that this fox was just your average (if criminally-inclined) citizen of Duckburg; but the combination of her outfit style - which Webby was only taking stock of clearly for the first time -, seeking an ancient staff, and her apparent unfamiliarity with electric lighting? That started to paint a bit of a different picture.
"Oh, right. No, this is electricity. It's kinda not as impressive as it looks when you've grown up with it, I guess."
Which was kind of a nice lead in to...
"Hey, speaking of growing up, where is it that you come from? It must be a pretty interesting place, right?"
There was a story of some kind there at least, Webby was pretty sure. She wasn't expecting anything as extreme as Amunet and her people having lived inside a pyramid and cut off from the outside world for thousands of years, or even as dramatic as D'jinn's long quest to regain the lamp of his ancestors... although this lady's outfit did remind her of his at least in passing. But any decent story of adventure was exciting to the duck girl, even now that she'd participated in many of her own with the family.
Oh right, the staff. Focus, Webby!
"Uh-huh... if it's valuable and not at all magical," - and she assumed not, since no such detail had been mentioned - "then Scrooge has probably sent it across to his Money Bin, on the island out in the bay. But, uh..."
She fidgeted slightly.
"...maybe we should just go ask him rather than trying to head after it ourselves? I know it can be hard to convince Scrooge to part with treasure once he's got hold of it, but if we can prove to him that it was yours, I'm sure he'd give it back...?"
Something told her this suggestion was going to go down like a lead balloon, but Webby really didn't want to go sneaking around behind her hero's back if she could help it. Scrooge was a reasonable enough duck when you got down to it, right?
(Webby's room ref images, if it helps! [1], [2], [3] ^^)
“ oh not a vampire Demi humans are their own things with different sects I’m one of the last 3 of my sect the other two left is my extremely close cousin who spiritually my sis Ange and my reckless sibling oliver their a peice of work but family is family isn’t it also thanks about the wings sadly can’t use them to fly “
"Huh, I've not heard of demi-humans before. I've met aliens, and I know a lot about mummies, but..."
Her love of all things unusual was definitely raising its head. Lilo was already preparing a list of things she just had to ask about this new kind of people... before Darcy's next words stopped her train of thought cold.
"...oh."
A lot of weight to such a small word; but the way the other mentioned so casually that she and her companions were the last of their sect - which, the local girl assumed, must be another word for family, just like 'Ohana was - had hit something deep inside herself. Lilo didn't think she could ever come out with such a statement so boldly... it had taken her a while to even admit her own loss to Stitch, she didn't want to just tell it to a stranger...
Deep eyes watched the other girl, a hundred different emotions twisting in Lilo's stomach. She played with her fingers, gaze darting away and then back again as she searched for something to say.
"I know kind of what you mean. My big sister Nani is a piece of work, too." Perhaps not in the same way Darcy was talking about, but still. "But it's like you say, family is family. And family means nobody gets left behind. Or forgotten."
She nodded slowly, the familiar words comforting her. Still, talking about the tragedies of their respective pasts wasn't a conversation that Lilo was really prepared to have with someone who she had just met; so she pushed on past it.
"But our family's got much bigger now. we've got an uncle and aunt, too, as well as six-hundred-and-twenty-five cousins."
"Faster than the stars and the light!" Beamed the Gem as she thrust her right arm outward to the side for dramatics. "We will whizz down the hill and go zooooooooom! Woosh woosh!" Black Star was hyping herself and Vanellope up for the sled ride.
Black Star's excitement was radiating from her small, chubby body like a newly replaced lightbulb illuminating a room for the first time. "Okay okay!" With a few laughs, Black Star would climb into the back of the sled, not minding that the youngster took the front seat. She could have a turn next time they trekked up the hill.
Sticking her arms out of the sled, the Diopside would press gloved hands into the snow. Preparing to push the two forward with her synthetic arm muscles. "Okay Van! Get ready for launch in 3.. 2.. 1!" And following the count down, Black Star would push down and back. Propelling the sled forward towards their descent.
The zoom down the hill as Black Star pushed off was everything Vanellope had been hoping for. The wind whooshed past her face, blowing her hair back and forcing her to squint if she still wanted to see where they were going, and she was loving absolutely every minute of it. Gripping the sled with both hands as firmly as her gloves would allow, the child cheered with delight as the bottom of the hill raced up to meet them at breakneck speed.
The one down-side was just how quickly this was going to be over as the steep hill flew by so rapidly. She leaned a little back over her shoulder, raising her voice to Black Star without ever taking her gaze off the route ahead.
"So how far across town do you reckon we've got enough momentum to make it, if we just keep going...?"
What, deliberately stop this ride where it was safe? Seriously, what kind of girl did you take her for???
"it's fine " Steven gently waved her concern off with a smile and a cough "....but in all seriousness you wouldn't let them take me and strap me up to a table and cut me o-" and he's feverishly rambling by accident
Was this really what her boy was worrying about? When had the idea of the government carting him away become such a big concern for him; was it something she'd said? Connie knew she wasn't exactly shy with her criticisms of the way the world was being handled at present - it came with the territory of looking to study poli sci, right? - but...
She hadn't expected him to take much of it to heart, and especially not to this level.
Though she had frowned - particularly at the mental image his words conjured -, she also crouched down and took his hand, her expression gentle.
"Did you think I gave up my promise to protect you just because we're at peace with Homeworld now? No matter what might happen, I'm the strawberry to your biscuit, remember? I'm always gonna protect you, just like I know you'd do the same for me."
Yaarp is drawn to the hula skirt Lilo pulls out of her bag. "Okie-taka" the teal-colored alien said, nodding as he listened to the young Hawaiian girl keenly. His dark blue eyes watched Lilo pose with the skirt, cataloging in his head how it was to be worn.
His top pair of hands then took the skirt. Examining it in his hands, Yaarp would mutter some intangible Tantalog as he fastened the leaf skirt around his waist. Eyes staring down out it. Then a big smile stretched across his cheeks.
"Tay tay!" He would wriggle all four of his hands and blow out a few, rapid-fire honks from his antennae. Sure to keep the volume lower and non-damaging to anyones' ears nearby. If it wasn't clear to Lilo, her experiment friend was happy to be donning a hula skirt.
"You look good in it," she cheered, watching the small experiment as he hooted happily. These were, admittedly, only the easy steps, and Lilo was still aware there was potential for things to go badly...
But even though Stitch's first lesson had ended in disaster, he had caught on quickly, and he also had learned how to dance it properly in the end. So they had this in the bag, the girl figured.
"Hands on your hips," she encouraged, sticking out her closest hip in his direction to emphasise the correct posture as she suited action to word. How that would quite work for Yaarp with four arms instead of two... well, they'd play that part by ear, Lilo figured.
"Now follow my lead."
She shifted her weight from one leg to the other, thrusting out her opposite hip in time to an imaginary beat... and then held the pose, waiting for Yaarp to mimic her.
Lilo listened patiently without visible reaction, hands folded behind her back, as the younger girl launched into her introduction. Sharing a house with Pleakley had quickly accustomed her to people who talked quickly, so the youngster was easily able to take it in her stride.
When she got a space to reply, she nodded earnestly.
"Yeah, I kinda guessed you weren't from around here by the wings. They're cool. Are you part vampire, then?"
Vampires weren't usually associated with feathered wings, in Lilo's experience; if they had wings at all they were usually more bat-like. But if Darcy was indeed from another universe - and she saw no reason to doubt that - then who was to say vampires there followed the same rules as here?
At least, it seemed logical to her.
It sounded like it was her turn to do the introduction thing, too. While Lilo did try not to make friends with tourists, who would typically go back home after their holidays and she'd never see them again, it was only fair to return roughly the same amount of information she'd been given, right?
"I'm Lilo Pelekai. I'm nine years old, I live just on the outskirts of town, and I'm the official Earth Ambassador to the Galactic Federation on planet Turo."
As matter-of-fact as can be, as if absolutely nothing she said was the slightest bit weird.
"I also value family highly. Does that mean you have an 'Ohana too?"
