Lady in red
-When Sideswipe feels Circuitbreaker squirming in his arms, he raises an optic ridge and spare a glance down at the Praxian. Itâs what the engineer yells out at him that has him snorting in amusement-
Ya kiddinâ, right? Ya looked like ya didnât know up from down back there.
-Usually Sides wouldnât have bothered carrying the other mech. Hell, hearing Circuits yell at him to put him down would have been enough for the brawler to drop him on his aft and call it a day. Here he was playing nice and the Praxian was going to act ungrateful about it? Never mind the fact that Circuits is even in such a disheveled state because of Sideswipeâs earlier actions. It never occurred through Sidesâ thick helm that being tossed around like a sack as the larger mech caused mayhem would probably make anyone feel a tad uneasy.-
[Circuitbreaker's blue optics bore into Sideswipe's own when the red helmed mech looks down at him with surprise. Did the other bot not understand...? His tanks feel very queasy and he knows exactly who to thank for this unpleasant sensation.
Circuits is a very well mannered mech, but now a little sliver of his sass begins to show.]
This is not some joke. The way you were running about in a gun shooting frenzy, and leaping into the air to flip it is no wonder that my sense of coordination was hindered immensely. Acrobatics like that is something I do not partake in. [He pauses, glancing away, and then quickly adds with a pointed look up at the larger mech holding him.] At all.
[Sideswipe had rattled his processor something good back there with all those tricks. However, as he converses with the black Lamborghini, Circuits has stopped his intensive struggling to get out of Sideswipe's grip. He's quite focused on reprimanding Sideswipe's actions. He does, however, subconsciously appreciate not being dropped ghfjdk.]
-Optics further appreciating the sight behind them, a satisfied smirk forms on Sideswipeâs faceplates. Sure, his little game would have had more to it if there had been any actual targets. But frag it if blasting everything in his line of vision didnât give him a rush. It almost makes up for how fraggin bored and annoyed heâs been since getting stuck on this dumb Autobot base. The hi grade sucks, his alternate takes orders from no good fraggers, and damn can the mechs here whine. The brawler canât wait to be back in his own universe; away from this non sense. However if Circuitbreaker has more inventions such as this mod that he needs testing, Sides might be persuaded to visit this dump more often.
Hey, speaking of Circuitbreaker.-
Ya ready to..?
-Sides raises an optic ridge; pausing as he finally takes in the Praxianâs appearance. The engineer looks like a fraggin mess and Sideswipe for the life of him has no idea whatâs with the little guy. Of course as thick helmed as he is, it wouldnât occur to him that all that running and flipping is what has the other mech looking so unwell. No, Sides rolls his optics before shifting his hold on the smaller bot so that he can carry him back bridal style.Â
Heâs in a good mood so he can play nice right now~-
[So focused on the ground, the larger mech's speech doesn't even register in Circuitbreaker's mind. Doorwings flickering as his sense of balance slowlyâ oh so slowlyâ starts to come back to him, it's all suddenly taken away once more. But his tanks feel so woozy and... Oh Primus can they just stop moving for one moment? That would be most helpful...
Like a rag doll, he's shifted and held onto like some kind of human carrying their groom on their bonding day. Or was it bride? Primus he's getting the words and sayings all jumbled just like his poor processor right now. Optics brightening more he looks up at Sideswipe and squirms in his hold.]
S-Sideswipe put me down I am more than capable of walking on my own two pedes!
-Pedes quickly moving in his search, it doesnât take long for Sideswipe to come to the conclusion that heâs not going to find much for target practice in this area. Itâs mainly just more rocks and organic plants the further out he goes. As much a bummer that may be, it doesnât stop the large black plated mech from having smeo fun out here.Â
All it means is that the rules of his little game have changed some.
Lips turning up in a maniacal smile, the reckless mech raises, aims, and begins to fire his bazooka at anything that pops up in his view as he runs. The sight of the numerous explosions, the scream of his name ringing through the air, it all fuels the high levels of energy and excitement coursing through his frame.Â
Itâs a good thing the engineer is clinging so tightly to his frame right now. With Sideswipe so caught up in the moment, the thought of exactly who and why heâs out here now are long gone.Â
When the destructive twin notices heâs approaching a boulder, he doesnât stop or try to move out of the way. No, instead, Sides is jumping, flipping, and blasting at the large rock. Filled with glee, he comes to a stop to look back and admire his handiwork; engine rumbling appreciatively-
Fraggin beautiful.
[Frame jostled this way and that, Circuitbreaker clings to Sideswipe as hard as he can to stop from suddenly falling right off the now running mech. His doorwings hike up, flatten out, and tense up when the tell tale signs of Sideswipe shooting off the gun ripples over his EM field and reaches his audios. He's not feeling Sideswipe's level of excitement. Oh no. The red Praxian wants off this ride as soon as he can.
It would be one thing if Sideswipe ran off on his own, but a whole other now that Circuits is involved. The doorwinger's optics shutter offline as he just holds onto the larger frame tighter. When he feels them lifting off the ground andâ Primus!â flipping in the air while shots fired, he feels his sense of balance go haywire as down becomes up and up is down.
He... doesn't feel too well.
Optics onlining dimly, Circuitbreaker just stares hard at the ground, trying to make sure that it's not moving. His entire frame slacks in Sideswipe's hold. He never thought a small rock on the hard dirt covered ground could be so entrancing.]
-Slag, nothing here. More rocks and plantsâŠwasnât Earth supposed to be filled with living things? Whereâs something that can run? Primus, heâll take a fraggin vehicle at this rate. That would at least give off a nicer explosion than that organic plant.
Whatâs that sound ringing through his audios? It doesnât sound like anything getting blown to bits, torn apart, or fragged senseless so he decides thereâs no reason to ponder more on it. No, with Sideswipeâs processor solely focused on finding more targets for his toy, Circuitbreakerâs request or rather command might as well be hitting deaf audios at this point. And with the Praxianâs smaller build, those hands hitting against his back arenât giving the effect the doorwinger was probably hoping for.
Feels more soothing than anything.-
Gonna have to venture out further, spark.
-That comment and his grip tightening on Circuitbreaker are the engineerâs only warning before heâs moving faster; going from a brisk walk to a flat out run.-
[Sideswipe wasn't listening to him which, in turn, made the Praxian wriggle and struggle all the more in the larger mech's hold.] Venture out further to where? At least put me down.Â
[Circuits turns his helm, trying to look at the other bot to reason with him but only succeeds at staring at broad black shoulders and back plating. And still Sideswipe fails to listen to him. He hits Sideswipe's back harder, trying to get his attention. However, as fate would have it, the Lamborghini takes off at a Primus forsaken run and the red Praxian instinctively latches onto the very mech he was trying to get to let him down.
How the tables have turned. Now Circuitbreaker's arms hold tight to whatever he can get on the larger frameâ his hands grabbing onto gaps in armor. His legs that were once kicking and moving about suddenly wrap around Sideswipe's chassis as his entire frame is jostled this way and that in the run. Never before has he lost his cool as quickly as he has in this moment; never before has he had a mech carry him like a 'sack of potatoes' as the humans say.]Â SIDESWIIIPE!!!
//It truly is hard for Betastrike not to chuckle lightly over the communication line at Circuitbreakerâs response. Sure, the other Praxian sounds amused and even professional to a point but thereâs no denying the excitement lacing the engineerâs words. If thereâs one thing he knows about Circuitbreaker, the one in his own universe and apparently this one now too, itâs their love of energon goodies. The mechâs just as bad as those younglings that hang around energon goodie shops all day.
That small shared trait has a smile tugging at the young enforcerâs lips. Despite the hardships of this Circuitbreakerâs universe, itâs nice to see that the engineer is still at his core the same mech Betastrike knows back home. Hopefully when he does manage to visit this war ridden universe, heâll be able to discover many more similarities.//
< Sounds like a plan to me, Circuitbreaker. >Â
< Excellent. I do so love when an agreement is maâ > [Just then, a sudden explosion is heard in the background along with the tell tale signs of emergency sirens and a gush of water from the over head sprinklers. Wheeljack has done it again in record time: had a project blow up in his face for the second day in a row. Ratchet will have a fit with this.]
< Apologies Betastrike but it appears my colleuge isâ > [All you hear is a muffled 'I'm fine! I'm in one piece!... Mainly one piece!' in the background with something metallic dropping.] < âin need of some immediate assistance. Take care. >
[And with that, the line comes to a rather sudden end.]
//Audios focused in on what Circuitbreaker is saying through their communication line, Betastrike reaches into his sub space for something to keep his hands busy. Itâs not so much a nervous habit that has the enforcer searching for an object to keep him physically occupied. Itâs just that heâs truly not used to lying still in his berth like this. Even as he listens to other Praxian go off on a scientific tangent of ideas, he still feels odd not doing anything.
Of course why be productive and go back to paperwork when he can play with this nifty little laser pointer he picked up a few days back. Right hand holding up the pointer, he begins to repeatedly click the light on and off; a little too amused at the neon pink light that appears up on the ceiling.//
< A voice activated baton with the ability to lasso in fleeing suspects? Iâm going to have to make a trip to your universe sooner than I thought because wow mech! You werenât kidding about incentive.>
//Even if his sire and one of his brothers are engineers, Betastrike is still rather impressed about Circuitbreakerâs idea. Not just that but how quickly his fellow Praxian thought it up. The enforcer is also quick-thinking but not in the way Circuitbreaker is. Striker can think of many ways to handle a situation in a moment flash but inventions and the like? Thatâs never been his forte.//
< You do that for me and Iâll get Byte to make you not only double coated rust sticks but his energon swirls. Those are a bestseller at his shop. Donât know a single mech who doesnât love those.>
[Hearing the excitement lacing Striker's words when he hears about Circuitbreaker's idea on modifying his baton makes the red Praxian's doorwings give an equally excited flutter. It's one thing to be eager to start off on a new project, but it's entirely different to know that the recipient of your idea is equally looking forwards to the outcome. The promise of more kinds of energon treats to add to the list Betastrike said he will bring him is also a very, very big plus.
He really does enjoy his energon sweets. And good Primus, he's going to even include energon swirls? Bluestreak will have to hide the box of treats before Circuitbreaker inhales them all. He has an addiction. A very bad addiction to delicious little sweet creations. He's worse than a sparkling.]
< I believe we have ourselves a little agreement hmm? >Â [There is an amused and hopeful sound interlaced with his words. Enjoying the other Praxian's company in person is something he looks forwards to in the long run. Perhaps he can get the other mech to test out a few more of his devices. Sideswipe or Bluestreak aren't around nearly as often as Circuitbreaker's ideas spring to life, so there are a few that have been piling up in need of testing.]
-If thereâs one thing that gets his energon running hot, itâs seeing something get blasted and completely annihilated by one of his many weapons. Sideswipe doesnât feel or think that he needs a gun or sword to really do some damage to something or someone who opposes him but regardless of that fact, he gets a rush of excitement from using one of his beloved toys.Â
The Praxianâs modification, that extra boost of power, has him wanting to find more targets to obliterate.Â
With one thing on his processor now, Sideswipe is done testing this invention for Circuitbreaker. Now the brawler is completely focused on one thing; his desire to blow slag up. The engineerâs only warning is the hard rev of Sideswipeâs engine before the larger mech picks Circuits up and easily slings him over his shoulder. With the Praxian in tow, Sideswipe heads out further to find something other than organic plants to shoot at.-
[Completely still focused on the weapon modification he worked so hard onâ the countless hours spent plugging away at data and crafting prototype after prototypeâ it's no wonder that Circuitbreaker doesn't register the new movement by his companion. When he does, however, it is far, far too late and he is suddenly scooped up and tossed over the larger mech's shoulder like some kind of light weight cargo. Immediately his doorwings hike up from the disliked position and he squirms in Sideswipe's grip, trying to break free or to at least have the other bot put him back down where his pedes can touch the ground.]
Sideswipe, put me down!Â
[His legs flail about as do his hands which smack on the back of the red helmed mech's black back plating as if to emphasize his demand.]Â SIDESWIPE!!

Well now ya get to test your mod on somethinâ heavier.Â
-Sideswipe didnât know a thing or two about engineering but as far as he could tell, the fact that he bought something more powerful than what Circuitbreaker was wanting was a good thing. Wasnât scientists supposed to be all about pushing their ideas and projects to the limits anyways?
Blue optics focused on the Praxian; Sideswipe for once stays quiet as he watches the smaller mech set up the mod to his bazooka. When youâre dealing with weaponry and anything thatâs going to give his toys that extra OOMPH, youâre going to get the brawlerâs attention. Besides, if this thing works as well as the Praxian stated, he might be investing in one or twoâŠor several of these mods.
When Circuitbreaker raises up, hefting the weapon up with him, the mech snickers a bit at the sight. If Circuits is going for intimidating, heâs far from it. The engineer looks more like a pin-up babe than any of the Autobot soldiers he associates with.-
Easy enough.
-Stepping closer to the red plated mech, Sides easily picks up the weapon. Bad thing about their current location is the lack of any real targets. Of course Circuitbreaker would take him somewhere practically deserted. Oh well guess heâll have to use his imagination, huh?~ Bazooka raised up and aimed at two large cacti up ahead; Sideswipe envisions two of his alternates squabbling about their opposite factions as he presses down on the trigger up top. The bazooka, one of Sidesâ favorite weapons, already packs a large punch as it is but the much to Sideswipeâs surprise and joy, the added adjustment to it has its destructive capabilities turned up to an even higher notch. The two organic plants and anything else in a close radius are gone and in their place a very nice explosion~
Oh yea, his engine is rumbling now-
[It came as to no surprise when Sideswipe lifted up the weapon with tremendous ease. He would be lying to himself if he said that he wasn't eager to witness the full power of the weapon plus the modification. Having mechs to test new weapon ideas was never in short supply back on baseâ the Sideswipe who resided back on their base was always eager to be a guinea pig.
Observant optics watch the shot leave the weapon and whizz over towards two unsuspecting cacti. In a matter of nano kliks, Circuits watches the two plants explode with dancing electrical charges jumping back and forth from the organic matter. Everything's blown to bits with a lasting electric charge sizzling over the immediate area. The Praxian's doorwings give a satisfied upwards flick and a smile pulls at his lips; it's a job well done and a perfectly executed design plan.]
Marvelous.
[Circuitbreaker isn't paying attention to the other mech's rumbling engine or that satisfaction coming from Sideswipe's EM field from the large explosion. No, he's still reveling in the success of his mod and is already formulating other ways to improve it and tinker with it more for other weapons.]
//Glad to see, well hear, the conversation going past Circuitbreakerâs hunch and any others he may have about Striker and his own universe, Betastrike moves from the desk he was seated at to his berth; carelessly flopping down onto it. He doesnât plan on recharging any time soon even if the other Praxian currently talking to him decides to end the comm shortly. The enforcerâs processor is done for the night as far as work related things go so thereâs no point in sitting up at his desk looking any further over case files.
Striker grins some to himself at Circuitbreakerâs last comment. âConsider it incentiveâ. Now how many times has he heard that particular line from a certain mech back home? Always trying to push and motivate the officer to work harder and achieve more. Amazing, how similar mechs could be in parallel universes. //
<I could use something that does all my paperwork for me.>
//A light chuckle leaves his vocalizer//
< But no, seriously, Iâm not certain to be honest. What kind of gadgets would you be able to design? >Â
//Striker asks more out of curiosity than him wanting anything. Even though engineering has never been a subject heâs taken too much interest in, itâs always something else to hear his brother Burst along with their sire go off on a tangent of ideas. Always working to improve and fix things so that theyâre better than they once was. Thinking and creating things that would make a mech wonder why no one ever thought of making the item before. They were mechs of possibilities and the enforcer was generally interested in what type of things Circuitbreaker would work on for an enforcer.//
[A soft smile pulls at his lips when Striker doesn't immediately decline the offer. Circuitbreaker doesn't have the warrior skills or anything of the sort to lend other mecha, but he does have his technical skills and engineering knowledge to help them succeed at what they do best. That same fact applies to the red and white doorwinger he's communicating with now.]
<Seeing as to how you are an Enforcer, I can only assume that there are certain... limits that you yourself have to abide by in order to pass periodical tests and examinations. That said, obvious changes would be quickly noticed, questioned, and put you through a variety of loops and more paperwork. So, I propose something that is simplistically useful >
[It is here that Circuitbreaker delves off into talking about his idea that bloomed from seeing the small electric charger on his own work table. His hands move as he talks, even though Striker can't see him. And soon enough, he's grabbing his own data pad that he uses to flush ideas out to really put his idea into play.
It would be a modified baton that would be able to create a concentrated burst of electricity that would ensnare a fleeing suspect. Almost like a whip, or rope. The way Circuitbreaker is picturing it in his mind, when he is able to get his hands on Striker's night stick, he'll be able to make it ten times more effective.]
<The real beauty behind it will be that it's only active when you initiate it with your voice. Vocal recognition; no one else will be able to use it against you.>
[Circuits laughs lightly.] Oh Iâm sure. [It sounds so similar to the Sunstreaker here. That mech can only be around certain individuals for so long before his temper got the better of him. Though Circuitbreaker has never been on the receiving end, he has seen and heard just what would happen to those that pushed the frontliner too far. And, in his opinion, they brought it upon themselves by poking the bear, as the humans say.]
I can assume you donât have a fan base following you around. [A pause and then he raises an optic ridge curiously and perhaps in a slightly teasing manner.] Or do you?
-A fan base⊠Primus, doesnât that bring back unfavorable memories of a fairly recent time post one art exhibition.- Not anymore.
-Not feeling the need to explain that situation to a mech he just met, Sunstreaker just leaves it at that. Circuitbreaker seemed like a wise individual, he could figure it out. And if not, Sunstreaker really could care less; it wasnât his problem.-
[Like Sunstreaker had hoped, Circuitbreaker is very talented at piecing things together. Making a thoughtful sound and a slow nod of his helm, the red plated doorwinger's mind comes up with a variety of scenarios and implications of the words said and left unsaid. Having a fan base following one around could be a little... irritating. So if he thinks that he can only imagine what it must feel like to the already short tempered mech before him.] That's a ray of light then.
[His doorwings twitch when he gets another notification on the video feed. It's from Prowl so he will have to cut this conversation short.] Apologies Sunstreaker, but I must end our talk here for now. Thank you for indulging my curiosity.

A fun timewaster - try it out for yourself here
I gather that this individual is a very reoccurring client. He must be extremely fond of your workâ then again, if your talents are anything like the Sunstreaker here, everyone is awed by your artistic abilities. [He is not intentionally trying to beef up Sunstreakerâs ego, but more like stating obvious facts that heâs witnessed. Sunstreakers have a wonderful artistic talent.]
-Being related to his counterparts in terms of skill level? Sunstreaker snorts and sits up straighter, tipping his chin up higher in a haughty manner. They may be his counterparts but he is obviously better than them.-
They are. He is one of my top clients and actually someone I can tolerate. -That is a very big factor in Sunstreakerâs line of work. Since the mech has a very short fuse, he tends to get irritated by overly bossy, needy, and even clingy clients.-
[Circuits laughs lightly.] Oh I'm sure.
I can assume you don't have a fan base following you around. [A pause and then he raises an optic ridge curiously and perhaps in a slightly teasing manner.] Or do you?
//Itâs hard for Betastrike not to snort at Circuitbreakerâs comment about the enforcer and his older siblings getting along well. Theyâre close; that much is very true. As much as the young officer tries to avoid going to his brothers for assistance, he knows without a doubt that he can depend on Byte and Burst for anything that may come his way. The same is applied back to him. If thereâs anything his older brothers ask of him, heâll do what he can.
As far as getting along well and seeing optic to optic on things? Ha, not so much. Then again, most arguments and such between them tend to be started and instigated by the enforcerâs loud mouth. Not that Circuitbreaker needed to know that,///
<Interestingâs a word for them.>
//Himself included but again the older Praxian didnât need to be aware of that.//
<And thanks, Iâll be sure to tell him that.>
//Itâs a good thing theyâre speaking through a comm. line and not through a video communication. Circuitbreaker canât see the younger Praxianâs optics widening some at his last statement. âCall it a hunchâ Frag, did the other mech figure out that- No, no, there wouldnât be any real reason for the red plated mecha to jump to that conclusion. Striker may had gotten a tad more defensive of the other Praxian than a stranger probably should have the first time they spoke but the news given to Betastrke concerning Circuitbreakerâs and Bluestreakâs situation was shocking at best.//
[Reaching over his work table for a particular tool, Circuitbreaker selected it from its organized holding case and hunched over his little project. While talking to Striker, he had set aside some of his work to take a little break, but decided that he could well enough chat and work on some of the lighter things. Multi-tasking was a skill of hisâ to a certain extent mind you. If he were to be working on a much larger task, the red doorwinger would be utterly focused on it and tune everything else out.
He takes his job very seriously when it is of the upmost importance.
Manipulating a few wires with the tweezer like tool, Circuits coils them up and fits the neat bundle right underneath a smooth panel.
He likes these little conversations with Striker; he likes hearing about the other mech's life back on a Cybertron that still flourishes without the presence of war. If only for a moment, he can imagine being alive in that place; but reality summons him back and he moves along with it fluidly. One can't change the past but there are ways to change the future by acting in the present.
Putting his knowledge and skills to work, he will be a part in a better future for the rest of the mecha.]
< On another note, is there anything I could assist you with? You have graciously taken time to converse with me; perhaps there is a gadget or modification I could design for you for your job? [He adds with a chuckle over the comm.]Â Consider it incentive for establishing a way to travel between universes. >
