Learning that Mark was going to spend a majority of his time in ch2 eating is very funny until I remember all the artwork that depicts him as a smoker.
Every smoker I've ever known who has tried to quit has either A. started vaping instead, or B. turned to food during withdrawals, to distract their mouths, to fight urges and cravings. Like, my grams went through bags upon bags of twizzlers when she quit smoking years ago because it was the only thing that would keep her mind off having a smoke.
If Mark's a smoker, and he doesn't have cigarettes in the killing game, it's possible that he's going through withdrawals, and he's using snacking and munching on anything he can get his hands to cope with that. Like... it might be the only thing keeping him sane at that point, which would also explain why he switched sides so quickly to go work for Ulysses and Wenona.
Also, Mark was right there in the pharmacy when Kai talked about people potentially getting high in ch1, and if he's a recovering addict based on the info we've gotten about him...... yeah, I can see why he'd fold immediately once food was threatened, it's not just about starving for him.
I really wonder if Mark's gluttony would've just been played for laughs, like "lmaooooo Uly's dead and Mark's out here scarfing down lobster loooool" or if they were actually going somewhere with that...
