No, actually, I don't think I'll ever get over how Suzanne Collins built up a relationship between Gregor and Ripred painstakingly over a four book period that started in a really bad place of wanting to kill each other and ended with them genuinely realizing they loved and needed another just to give Ripred's confession of his past to fucking Lizzie who was a side character at best and had a relationship to Ripred based purely on the fact that she reminded him of his dead daughter who we don't even meet.
