Oh my cod I just found you through your httyd art and I love it all so much!! I was incredibly super ultra hyperfixated on them when I was younger but could never find anyone else who liked them so I would just listen to the audiobooks on repeat while drawing crappy fanart and finding other people who like them feels so vindicating!! Sorry for rambling I'm just excited ^^'

#al chatters #old art #an attempt at fur texture was made #I remember using the fan brush for fur a lot and also for like EVERYTHING ELSE back in the day #I loved how it mixed the pigments

My fave color is orange but my fave color to paint with is dEFinitely green

#there’s just so many options #so many earthy greens and bright greens and spring greens and leaf and sap greeeeeens #viridan and pthalo are on THIN ICE. I have an issue w the super artificial looking jewel tone ones #that was started by my elementary school #bc we had to take out the premixed green from our watercolor sets bc it was ‘too artificial’ and ‘no natural green looks like that’#(mine didn’t pop out so I could keep it but I wasn’t allowed to use it)#I love mixing w viridian and pthalo tho!!!!! they’re super helpful !!!! but idk I just don’t like using them alone #anyways ty for coming to my tags Ted talk #al chatters

"You should create for yourself" and "it's okay to feel discouraged when creating your own original projects if no one interacts with them" are two sentences that should be able to co-exist with each other

On the one hand, you should kill that capitalist in your head that tells you to make art only for the enjoyment of other people. On the other hand, it's totally fine to be disappointed that you spent hours or even days on something that only got 4 notes. You can feel both ways.

I ended up painting yesterday!!!

Loose studies of this photoset because I want to get better with forests and backgrounds. I’m a big fan of the warmer colors of the second (right) painting. Looks more atmospheric to me than the first painting I did.

#mixed results lol #it was more soothing to paint the second one too bc I did it late at night and I feel like it shows #I also did that one from the left corner down whereas I tried to do the first painting ALL AT ONCE and got overwhelmed #al chatters #watercolor #my art #my desk is a disaster don’t look too close lol
