This is my converted Pathfinder (D&D 3.5) version of the classic “Tomb of Horrors” module by Gary Gygax. I made it by pouring through the original module, the updated 3.5 module, and an unofficial Pathfinder version of the module, and compiling the best of them together. I keep it as original to the module as best as possible. I even included a generic, setting-less intro to the module, useful for DMs who want to run it without having to integrate it into their current campaign setting.
All of the assets for this PDF were and still are made available free online, I just compiled them together. My playgroup (seven players) died several times going through the dungeon, but I allowed them the occasional “mulligan” where they could retain their character, they just had to take the body back to town and revive them (thus resetting the traps in the dungeon). In the case of a TPK, I usually allowed them a “rewind” so they could redo the encounter again, but it still counted against them. To me, it wasn’t about just killing the players, but forcing them to think laterally. Brute-force, conventional dungeoncrawling doesn’t work 100% of the time here. A tribute to Gygax’s genius thinking.
I mean, they killed the demilich in a way that’s not even listed in the PDF at all!
