my ‘overtuned’ story!
So... as you thought, it began from the X Factor Indonesia of course! haha.
If I’m not mistaken, Mikha’s audition was aired on RCTI around the first week of February 2013. Mikha sang Lost (by Michael Buble). And yes, all the girls’ hearts were taken away by his angelic voice!
I thought he was gonna be another ordinary handsome singer. But on March 2013 i started to follow all twitter accounts of his information.... and his brothers accounts too! I found their soundcloud account aaaand i love all of their covers and the songs that they made by themself, although it was still pretty amateur (you know, that little cough you do before you sing HAHAHA) and Mikha’s voice was in the middle of puberty. And Surprisingly, I became deeply in love with his voice and i always followed up his performance week by week. Not just that, i also sent lots of vote by text message. I wondered why because I don’t usually have an idol in my life.
Until.... on early May 2013 he was eliminated after singing Crazy Love and Mungkin Nanti with Reuben and Mada, which was named as “Mikha and The band” not TheOvertunes LOL. Until they signed a contract and made performance everywhere! but not for je because he decided that music industrial isn’t his dream :( My first gig was on 13th June 2013. I lost my phone there HAHAH.
at the end of 2014, there came this problem about me and my friend who likes theov too. Every time i think about theov it reminds me of that annoying and sickening friend. And i started to remove theov out of my life. I didn’t buy their first album, something that i’ve been waiting for from the very first time as an overtunist. BUT MY FATHER BOUGHT IT FOR ME because he thought i still love them AND IM REALLY FEELING GRATEFUL FOR IT if i think about that right now.
In the middle of 2015, IM BAAACK AS A REAL OVERTUNIST because i think theov has always given me positive messages and i shouldn’t throw it away just because of my friend. i started to catch up on their songs and video clips!
I thought their name was gonna disappear in time, just like another musician that raised by talent tv shows. But no, they don’t.
On November 2016, my high school was making an art and sports competition, that ends with a closing. One day, a sponsor made a deal with us and ask us to choose a band to be invited to our closing, and it was paid by the sponsor not by us. They gave 3 options. guess what? The Overtunes was on the list!
But there is this problem. Not every person in my school wants The Overtunes. So we made a voting. NOOOO.
I persuaded all of my friends to choose TheOvertunes. But some of them still chose another band :(
Surprisingly, a lot of my friends chose TheOvertunes. and they were BOYS. you know, i thought theovertunes wasn’t really boys’ thing but they say they like the Cinta Adalah song! aaah finally, they were invited to my school!!!! and it made me tearing up because i can see that they are growing, because of their creations.
Now TheOvertunes sings a lot of songs for movies soundtrack. And that really spreads their wings wider!
Which proves that they really are true musicians that do everything about music industrial sincerely, because it’s their passion.
Maybe people see me as a fanatic fans that idolizing a handsome-untalented-boy (on 2013). But now as you see :) they’ve grown bigger and still going. It’s about their creation, not their physical attraction.
I’m idolizing a smart, sincere, honest, and brilliant band that never gives negativity for their fans’ life.
I didn’t come this far to follow an ordinary band. They really are extraordinary band.
